stupid fuse
so i was taking my buddy to the air port and we prolly get about 3 miles away from base. we stop at the stop light and when the light turned green my car was off. i started wondering why it was off becuase i KNOW i diddnt stall it. well it wouldnt start it would turn over but would huff and puff for about 2 secs and then it died again. none of my guages would move either when it started huffing and puffing. well a cop ended up pushing me off the road (little nervous about the cop pushing my car with his HUGE brush gaurd) but he did no damage. to me it sounded like a fuel problem. i checked the fuse box and looked at the fuel pumps fuse and it looked fine if i had a multimeter i would have checked it for continuity. but i switched it out with my spare fuse and turned it over. well to my suprise it started right up and the car felt ALOT more responsive. i revved it and it sounded like the srt's when they have that crackle out of the exhaust. but how on earth do you blow your fuel pump fuse?
Well I don't know how your fuse popped, but after you replaced it the car should feel exactly like it would have before it popped. A fuse is either bad or good, no in between. I would be a little more skeptical of another underlying problem that you haven't found yet. Are you SURE that the fuse you took out was popped? It's really easy to see as the little upsidedown "V" would have a gap somewhere in it and probably a little burn mark where it burned.
Sometimes they burn up and it's actually hard to tell without a test light or meter like you stated. Maybe you did have a defect fuse, which would be great. If the new one pops again then you are going to have to have some fun with wiring
