thats the first car and the second is a

vr6 Jetta

dont know mods.

what are my chances?

is the eclipse a v6? if so, forget that too. the 4cyl's run ok, it would be a good race for you but close. the v6 run pretty well, i've driven one once and I was really impressed with it.

do it at the track.

 

The VR6 should beat ya, not sure by how much. Them 2.2 Cobeys are surprising. The Eclipse GS, you should have a pretty good run with

 

the eclipse is a 2.4

so it should be close......even with those mods?

 

it would be close on the eclipse, they are really heavy but you have an auto so its hard to tell. i dont know why everyone freaks out about the vr6 jettas. i know stock they arent that much faster either....i beat one in my old 05 auto LS.... but his was auto too.

 

The GS's are extremely slow...I can't believe people try and race them.

You'll beat the Eclipse Hands Down. The VR6 Jetta is interesting, I ran an r32 and it only pulled two lengths on me sooo.

 

its a local car club forum with a bunch of car clubs and they "called me out" meaning they wanna race me. and if someone backs down they look like a bitch.

 

I think you will be a match for eclipse but you should win the vr6 should beat you but it shouldn't be by much more than a full car

 

From what I can see, you don't have many Mods. That highflow Cat and downpipe, and the shift plus won't make much of a difference ovef stock. They might make up for the weight of your other mods though.

Do you have any tricks up your sleeve?

Sucks that there really aren't many mods out there for the 2.2L

 

no tricks up my sleeve. the magnaflow is the catback. i just need my header from CA and then im done with bolt ons.

 

i've driven a few 1.8 turbo vw's and they run very strong for what they are. the vr6 is very comparable, they have a little more low end and fall off a bit on the top end compared to the 1.8T. they don't feel all that fast, but its because their power comes in so smoothly.

I really don't see you beating one of them. but if its a manual you never know what the driver will do.

Hey this might be a little off topic but my buddy has a v6 eclpse spyder . like 2002 with the v6 3.0, what do you guys think would happen on a 40 roll? my ss/sc with gmpp exhaust?

I don't know. But I don't see all those mods adding more than 15-20hp. Seems like a lot of money to get very little out of it. Wouldn't you say?

dont even worry about either you should be fine , i had a gs o7 and there is a reason that i traded it in for my 05 ion redline

 

Best thing you can do is keep down the ego (not saying you have one) and jump in on some races. What I'm saying is don't worry about what you can win or expect any given result. Get a feel for where your car and driving stand again various cars. It has a lot more to do with individual situations and specifics. Personally, it took me a lot of adjustments and brought up a lot of ideas of mods I needed that I didn't realize I did like traction and suspension support.

 

the VR6 will either be close, or you ill die in a painful fiery hell , as they take boost quite well if i remember right...if he has boost of course

go and smack the eclipse around for me, remind him he isnt paul walker in the F&F

And with a high flow cat and all that piping, and your a 2.2 with no turbo. the back preasure is non existant, lol you might not be getting to much hp from that. you could be loosing.. either way i say you get walked by both

Vr6s run 15s stock, lol your gonna die, but you gotta get practice, take them both on.

then again you gotta take in account driver error, they could miss shifts and you can win
