Today my temperature light came on and the coolant temp was 255. I did have the AC on and was driving in traffic, but I do not think this should be happening on a brand new car. Has anyone else seen this? Thanks.

Chevypowered 10-03-2005, 09:32 PM Yeah thats way too hot get it checked out. I say 225 max. detrini 10-03-2005, 09:49 PM yea thats way too hot, I took my 2.2 for long trips all summer and barely topped 200, there is just no reason for the car to be that hot. RaineMan 10-04-2005, 01:44 AM Mine hits somewhere right close to 200 during "normal" driving... I personally think that's a bit warm but I suppose that's how these 4 cylinders run.... definately get anything over 240 checked out. Soopahmahn 10-04-2005, 05:07 PM My SS has never even hit 200. MikeSS 10-05-2005, 10:42 AM I read in celcius, so I have no idea what 255 is. My car has never gone over 104 degrees yet. swatthefly 10-05-2005, 11:48 AM My SS has never even hit 200. i havent gone over 192. my car seems to do well with the heat. brentil 10-05-2005, 12:01 PM I read in celcius, so I have no idea what 255 is. The fan in the Solstice turns on at that point and drops the car down into the ~190 F range before shutting back off. RaineMan 10-05-2005, 01:57 PM Perhaps the fan isn't running long enough? or soon enough? Ardskoay 10-05-2005, 08:59 PM The temp has seemed to have been fine since then. But i am going to have it checked out next wensday along with a few other things. |
