Is stage 2 REALLY that nessecary for just being a regular driver? I would never take my car to the track, all this car is to me is my fun ride from point a to point b.

I do think a CAI would be good though. Helps the engine and besides cosmetic reasons, I like the noise engines make with mod son it (exhaust, intake, etc)

Edit: Forgot to add mainly no stage 2 because dealership wants $1025 for it AND install, thats even with my employee GM discount...

1025 for the stage 2 dude if u want stage 2 check out the site crateenginedepot u can get the gm stage to for 550$ As far as CAI's i have the AEM and i love it. No fitment issues no oil and the whine is awsome. When i first got it put in i wasted all my gas just flying down streets listening to the whine. The CAI is a good mod and i got my aem for 180 from turbo tech racing.

X2.....I'm almost inclined to say that the first time you hit WOT with your CAI that it will be at that point that you will crave MORE haha. Seriously though, this car is really fun to drive and stage II (Or a similar setup w/ 2.9" or so that someone pieced together) made it double the fun for me, and I think most would agree.

x3 I've spent close to $4,000 USD already. I scratch myself all over like a junkie when I haven't driven my car in a while.. Run Away! Save yourself!

Um, buy a K&N filter and use that instead of an actual CAI.
Seriously, I would suggest putting a 'stage kit' together yourself. You can buy a pulley, injectors and the belt much cheaper. Then, all you need to do it get someone to flash it.

Yeah, I did the airbox mod and it sounds just as good as an expensive CAI and performs probably about the same. I would have pieced together a kit if I wasn't worried about warranty; it seems like the dealers around my area are fairly **** about it.

I did the airbox mod myself the next day I had bought it from the dealership. I also got the stage 1 and 2 in my contract not knowing at the time that all I needed was the stage 2 kit. I got it put on about a week after I got the car. I told myself that I wasnt going to do anything else to the car after the stage 2 kit. Now I already got about 3 to 4 grand worth of stuff on my list of mods I want. Only problem is coming up with the money but slowly and surely its going to come. My next mods im putting on the car within the next month is going to be all traction mods. Motor mounts, torque dampener and traction bars. Id recommend doing these to your car after the stage 2 whether your going to the track or not because these cars do have alot of wheel hop(too much). good luck with it.

Jus save up for the stage 2. It really is worth it, it becomes a completely different car.

Do Header, DP, 3" Exhaust and CAI and after you graduate college you can do S2.

Well, that begs the question "Is a supercharged engine really necessary in a car?"

I mean, those of us who drive SS/SC's have already shown an inclination towards the higher performing vehicles, otherwise, we would have just bought a non-supercharged SS and saved a few thousand $$.

I do think a CAI would be good though. Helps the engine and besides cosmetic reasons, I like the noise engines make with mod son it (exhaust, intake, etc)
I put a CAI on my Focus ST, and soon afterwards I was concerned about every single patch of water that I saw on the road. And while I know that hydrolocking is rare, I swear that I will never put another CAI on a car that I own ever again.

Not ever.

Like some of the guys here have already said, you can buy a St. 2 for about $500, and then have a dealer install it for about $300. So if I was you then, I would put away that $200 that a CAI would cost and save up for St. 2.

Yup.
