You should take him. I believe those had something like 265 at the crank stock, so your hp #'s are right with his and given that he is so much heavier, you shouldn't have a problem, especially if your doing a roll from 40.
But who am I kidding? You only have 4 cylinders, so he'll smoke you.

If you are equal drivers most likely wont win. It will be really close but I doubt you'll win. Thats just been my experiences with 01-03 gt's. Very close racing but they always get a nose on me. With good drivers of course.
first of all, a solid real axle simply has less to break than a front drive car. because of that you can launch it harder and do it more times without an issue.
second, torque is key here, and even a stock mod block 4.6 has ample. while the 2.0SC is no slouch, the stang has more margin for error.
third, stangs are so common, as is that 4.6 mod block, there is a LOT of after market support, with the exception of the small block chev, and maybe the 5.0 ford, there isn't a more popular engine for the aftermarket.
forth, you can put some bad ass tires on a stang with no fitment issues.
fifth, things like a set of headers or an intake can mean a lot on a car like that. simple bolt ons can add real power.
sixth, and lastly no torque steer to speak of.
ok guys I was just tryin to give the cobalt a little credit damn.. lol.. But I know that their alot quicker then people put them up to be. I have yet to out run one. Of course I only have and intake and exhaust for performance mods. Looks like it's about time to put in an order for stage 2.
Maybe a 14.0 at the very best, but that might be pushing it.
well we raced we were neck n neck he is a good driver runs 13.8 lol at 40 we were neck n neck n he pulled on me liek a snail same at 60 so good race
if u guys want i can record it for yall

Yes, we always want people to record races, that way we have stuff to back up our claims if need be. Good race man.
