I'm sorry, but if you're spending more than $475 on your car payment every month, you need to buy a cheaper car, save money, buy a house, and get out of debt. That's incredible that someone would pay THAT much for a Cobalt. A BMW, Mercedes, Cadillac, maybe, but not an economy car. I take it all of you paying that much didn't put anything down correct?

well here's somthing to think about, i wanted a cobalt more than anything! i still live at home w/ my parents and plan on it for a few years (i work 40+ hours a week and make pleantly enough to make the payment), so therefore i figured that this would be my only opportunity to buy a brand new car that i love. so in 2 more years when the car is payed off i will have somthin to show for my money... you may say that its a car and not worth much, but i have had it for almost 2 years and less that 7k miles! i know that everyone may not be in this situation but it doesnt matter this is a car enthusiest site not a financial planning site, end of my rant!

My payments in total are 19k which is not a lot for a SS/SC. I do pay $517 for 36 months. Its not how much you pay but for how long.

if you look most of the ppl w/ $500+ payments are only 36months, not 60 months
