removing pcm and tcm from our cars

i need to remove my pcm and tcm to mail out for a tune. does anyone have a good write up on how to do this? i need the auto tranny computer and the engine computer both removed.

No real how-to needed. They are both right next to each other, right there in the front of the engine bay. Just unplug them. Here's a SS/SC, but its the same for all of them.

That's easy... it just unplugs... nothing special.

Just make sure to put it into an anti-static bag when you send it. Otherwise a static build-up might fry it.

Glad I could help someone... heheh.

Your car's computer is just like any other computer part you have. It's built a bit more sturdy... to stand up to water, heat, and etc. from under the hood. When you unplug it you expose the electrical connections.

If nothing else... it never hurts to be extra-careful.

cool, so they just unplug right from there. where can i get an anti static bag at? a computer store?

The anti-static bag really isn't necessary. These things are case grounded. Just don't lick the terminals and you'll be fine.
