Hey balt owners,

I had my car in for the cruise problem. Today I got it back and it is working! yay.

Now they said they went ahead and replaced 2 sensors. I did not ask too many questions at the time.

The report they gave me says they removed the steering column to replace these switches. This is where my problem comes from I think.

After I got the car back, I can hear the engine and exhaust through the car's firewall. I use to have a silent car, now I hear a constant whoooosh and exhaust rumble

I looked under the steering wheel and I saw the boot where the steering column and the firewall meet is out and just not in place. I don't know if this is it, but jeez if that boot being out is what is getting all that noise through I will be amazed. I tried to get it back in but hell I don't know what im doing so I quickly gave up.

Im just doubtfull that is the cause but who knows. I can even hear it through the radio, slightly. which is how I initially discovered it.

EDIT: passed by the dealer today and they fixed it. It was that boot. It didn't take too long to fix. Though the tech did say that the hole is small and the boot is huge so you got to wrestle it in.
