I see some Tial ones that look good, I trust the name, but they are like 300$. Some other ones I have found on Ebay were like 80-120. I don't recognize the name though. Does anyone have any recomendations on waste gates around 100-180. Should I just fork out the money for the brand name?? IDK much about what I'm looking at so any info will help.

I have used a Tial 38mm wastegate on more then one of my vehicles.....they are excellent and well worth the money. They hold boost very well, and I never experienced any spiking of bleed off......two thumbs way up for them :)

It's going to cost more than my manifold lol. I can't see spending that much, I may just have to talk myself into it. Any other suggestions (cheaper suggestions lol)???

honestly....if this thing is controlling the amount of boost your motor will or will not see wouldn't you want something reliable???

and on a side note...you can get a brand new tial 38mm for around 200-220 bux, just gotta shop around a bit

yeah I"m using the Tial 38mm myself.. I also have used the Turbonetics Racegate, but that is bigger (45mm) and @$500.

yea, however with the turbonetics/deltagates....I've heard alot of people complain about spikes and such. With the tials I used they ran consistent everytime.....personally I wouldn't use anything else at this point in time.

Don't buy one.

If you can't spend $300 on a Tial gate then you shouldn't be turboing your car. Ebay gates are hit or miss and with something like boost control that means hit or blow your motor. Don't trust your motor to SSautochrome.:thumbsdow

lol truth...

as for racegates, I"ve never had an issue, but I also use them on V8's, like my next project coming up this fall (turbo 84 monte carlo SS with a 406 cid sbc)

I have a 38mm TiAL as well. Spend the cash and do it right... remember, you get what you pay for.

Are you having a wastegate flange welded on your manifold?Cause the one in your pic doesnt have one.Why dont you just go with an internal wastegate? And whatever you do,stay away from ebay when you buy one.Alot of the tial waste gates being sold on ebay are fake.If you go on the tial website, they warn you about it.They even have pictures to show you how to spot a fake one.

The Tial will not spike. Money in the bank.

Thank you for the info.

For the flange the guy who sold me the manifold said he could do it but I wanted to line everything up in my car before I weld the flange in and start cutting up my manifold.

The problem with getting internally wastegated turbo's is that I just cant find them for what I'm willing to spend. I'm really set on a t3/t04e 50 trim and I know I can get a genuine garret for 575 shipped.

an external wastegate system is better anyways..i forget what i heard that wa negative about internal wastegates....perhaps they fail or something....but whatever it was it was enough to turn me away from them.....as for the turbo...thats what im planning on going with....i dont suppose we will have any behing engine fitment issues....i couldnt find a damn spec anywhere on that turbo.....

I giggled because "tight" doesn't begin to describe it.

did you have to remove the sound deadening material on the firewall to get it to fit?...or did it fit and was just really tight?
