Whats up with that Corolla S?

I mean...their EVERYWHERE! And I thought the cobalts were commen..Did Toyota have a buy one get one free? They kinda remind me of the Echo. Anyone have the chance to race one? I had a soccer mom rev at me at a light but I was in the turning lane. I seriously thought she was going to blow a head gasket. 126ish HP right? Am I missing something here?

Don't waste your gas they're worthless little turds on wheels. And yes Toyota DID have a buy one get one free deal a while ago on them so people teamed up and bought them that way. Basicly Toyota figured they're only worth half a car so lets sell them that way too.

I hate them too.

I hadn't realized that the Type S's maintained the same 1.8l VVT-i 4 cylinder as in the base models.
that's a whopping 126HP at 6000 RPM.
I'm guessing it's strictly a visual upgrade. Anybody know what kinds of mods these things are getting? It would be a shame that such a nice looking car suck so bad in bed.

Thats what I thought! I went to toyotas site and was like...that cannot be.. no manufacturer has the same engine for all their models. There must be a heirarchy.

He should be able to kill her easily doing that anyway. He SHOULD be able to kill her easily while eating a Big Mac instead of shifting out of first gear...

If they want to bite and I know I can win..just increases my manhood +1. Speaking of which.. I had a WRX hunt me down. Sounded like a jumbo jet. I didn't give him the satisfaction. He then moved on to a hyndai sonata. Manhood -1. But smarts +10

That is correct. I thought corollas were **** till I drove one. I work at a Toyota dealership just on weekends to help wash cars. The Corolla XRS has a 6-speed tranny with the celica gts motor. Damn things are pretty quick. I believe that motor has 170ish hp, whatever the celica gts has. Redlines at like 8 grand.

Who puts a 126hp engine in the top model of a car line?! Unless it is a micro crap box.

Damn you bastards!

actually that had a corolla XRS which had the 180 hp gt-s motor in them and a 6-speed gear box. A couple of my friends have them and ran high 14's with intake/exhaust and some decent tires.

but yea, the regular S model...SLOW

yea, they are lighter then the celicas I beleive....those xrs' moved pretty good for what they were...like I said, intake/exhaust and tires they ran a 14.6 at like 95 or 96 or something like that.

XRS stock is a pretty good match up. They DON'T have VTAK! and they have to get up to 8 grand to get the most out of their engine as someone else said

they have an 8k redline and at 7k they hit "lift" which feels similar to vtec...however I don't think they have any form of tuning to change the paramters or anything like that.
