Talking Snow Performance meth kit tuning with HPtuners?

Is this really that hard to do? I would love to attempt it myself and be capable of keeping my laptop with me and tuning it on the fly. I have a 2.79" pulley on the stage 2 tune right now with a JBP performance 3" intake. My motor is COMPLETELY BONE STOCK and I am worried about pushing the wrong button and KABOOM!!! Is there some sort of safety map that the computer resorts back to in case of emergencies? Is there a tutorial class thingy on the program so that I can learn? Or a book I can purchase? Or....is there anyone near San Antonio Texas who can just help me out? I wouldn't mind compensating for time. Just want to learn how to do it so I can be fully self-sufficient. Thank you for your time.

From what ive read, you can find alot about tuning with HPTuners by visiting the HPTuners forums. Theres general guides on alot there.

if your knock sensor picks up knock you should revert back to the low octane spark tables, if your getting knock its a result of too much timing
