A bad day to be this cobalt!!
A bad day to be this cobalt!!
hey guys i work for new 12 here on long island and today was CRAZY with the weather! flooding, tornado!!!! etc... but it wasnt until i saw a picture that someone sent in until i got really sad check it out
well I didn't see a BCP sticker on it, so it might not be one of us, no tints so it isn't impulse, hope it ain't CJ, but they woulda called me, mighta been one of the new guys around....
Nope wasn't me. I was gonna post that same exact pic myself, but I don't get to see news12 here at home anymore cause i use the competition.
Anyways for reference sake, since this is the kinda stuff that keeps me and my coworkers in business...that was a 4-5 inch per hour rain event which is just absolutely huge. A normal thundershower/downpour is only about 2 in/hr and not for nearly as long a duration as todays storm.
Reports from the day were LIE, NS, Meadowbrook, 106/107, Jericho Tpke, underhill rd in syosset, most of hicksville, my parking lot at work, 135 ect all shut down because of flooding. this is something that happends maybe once every 100 yrs. Absolutly crazy!
the caption for that pic IIRC was saying that balt is in hicksville.

damn she was cute
as for road closings... **** I left 20 minutes before they shut down the roads I take to work this morning, drove through 3-5 inches of water the whole way to work in an 11/2 commute which usually takes 20-30 minutes.,. get to work just in time to see water start pouring through our main entrance and procede to flood the building out. I had to go in the basement (where it was raining heavier inside lol) and shut down the breakers to the building, while of course standing in about 3 inches of water..... today sucked, got stuck in wet shoes for the rest of the day

I had to help save a coworkers camery. It was in about 8 inches of water. Flooded the cabin too. Never a good sign when an engineering firms parking lot floods out.
p.s. a tornado hit in islip terrace. Crazy **** today.

That happened to me last yr in my 05 cobalt but it was in 4 inches of water. I thought it was deeper than that to have stalled my car so I took my shoes off and rolled up my pants and I get out and it was only up to my ankles. But it was enought to get water in my intake. hence insurance hence new motor. lesson learned. I'm scared as **** when it starts raining.
