View Full Version : Ebay Projectors vs. Cobalt-Addiction
juststickit124 07-23-2007, 01:24 AM Hey guys, I've had my HID's for a while and I really could use projectors to prevent blinding the world, as it is now i have them aimed so low it's worse then stock. I was looking for opinions between the projectors on Ebay and the ones on Cobalt Addiction, what's the quality and performance difference? Those who have bought from either site please chime in. Thank you community!
kkanowitz 07-23-2007, 01:30 AM I have been wondering the same exact thing. I've been wanting to set up HIDs in projectors, but I didn't want to get screwed on ebay... I'm sure there are a lot of other people that are curious of the same thing.
sick06cobalt 07-23-2007, 01:30 AM I have the ones from CA.. they are good
juststickit124 07-23-2007, 01:33 AM I have the ones from CA.. they are good
sounds good thanks, but waiting for any one with Ebay to respond. Most likely I'm going to go with CA anyways cause I hate ordering from Ebay and don't trust them, and CA is a very well known company that every seems to like. But I think a lot of other people would find this helpfull too and probably give CA some good business. Thanks!:twothumbs
sick06cobalt 07-23-2007, 01:33 AM no problem
juststickit124 07-23-2007, 01:33 AM SICK06COBALT if you could sometimes, can you post a night shot with the lights on so I can see the light pattern, and do u have HID'S?
sick06cobalt 07-23-2007, 01:34 AM do you want a picture of the aiming or something..? what do you mean by the light pattern and no i dont
fbaero10 07-23-2007, 01:36 AM I actually just purchased ones off of ebay it was 200 including the shipping. omg FABULOUS.. i bought them for my fiance cause she wanted them for her cobalt. well im inlove with them, they are soo bright and badass. im ordering a set for my self next paycheck.
Came with very easy instructions already stripped wires. only took about 35 mins to put both lights in..
juststickit124 07-23-2007, 01:38 AM ya light up against a wall, I want to see how far the spread out and the light intensity throughout the whole beam, cause i hear the Ebay ones don't spread that far, only like 35 degress each direction and the light fades as it does from top to bottom
fbaero10: same questions, can you post pics? HID'S?
If you two could post pics we can all see them side by side and that would help clear a lot up for comparison purposes, thank you two both!

juststickit124 07-23-2007, 01:44 AM ya, I have HID's now, so I'm just going to buy the different bulb size, H1 right?
sick06cobalt 07-23-2007, 01:46 AM thats i have no idea about but ill try and get pics of the CA projectors if i can find my camera tommorow
fbaero10 07-23-2007, 01:48 AM whats cobalt addiction's price? cause you can always buy the cheap ones and buy brighter bulbs lol. thats has nothing to do with the healight lol i think a bulb is like 4 bucks. and you can choose your color haha
sick06cobalt 07-23-2007, 01:51 AM its ~240 shippped
oh and JUSTSTICKIT it says that the black ones are unavalible on CA but they really arnt the website just isnt updated
juststickit124 07-23-2007, 01:53 AM ya I got the price earlier, but I stop from ordering cause I remembered a check I have doesn't clear till tomorrow lol. I'm getting chrome anyways, I hate black, especially on the orange car, it matches nothing and I want them to look stock. Thanks for the help, can't wait to see the pictures
Xavipheus 07-23-2007, 01:54 AM I got mine on ebay, and you know the CA ones are from the same supplier that everyone ebay gets theirs from right?
Theres a whole thread on which projector sellers are the best fyi, SEARCH
Jackalope 07-23-2007, 03:13 AM They have to be the same lights. I doubt HIGHLY that 2 different companies make the same lights and one sells to e-bey and the other to CA.
badg1rl 07-23-2007, 08:14 AM we do have the black ones available. site hasnt been updated...we are getting there though. we try to do all the updates at one time.
if you have sales inquiries just send kenny an email at the sales address on the website...and as always be careful on ebay. Ive gotten ripped of 2-3 times already from unreliable sellers so just do the research before ordering anything off ebay.
sick06cobalt 07-23-2007, 09:31 AM and CA gives you great service.. I had no problems with them and they shipped them right out to me
Rangerondubz 07-23-2007, 09:45 AM The projectors are exactly the same just you can get them for cheaper off of ebay!

lol you just want more buyers. now an' days yo udont get ripped off of ebay, just make sure you read the entire article so you know what your getting. the company i got them off of got them to my house in 4 days. and they were perfect. even gave two extra sets of leds.. if you go through pay-pal.. you cant get ripped off. they always will refund your money if someone trys to screw you. pay-pal is god:cssNET:
badg1rl 07-23-2007, 11:53 AM no, its whatever people want to do,..not forcing anyone to choose us over them. i just said, do the research as id hate to see people get screwed. it HAS happened before on ebay. i know i didnt and i got stiffed on a body kit and a set of underbody neons...and i got $30 bucks back on the lights i paid over 100 for and $100 for a kit i paid almost 600 for duie to the cheap kit cost but expensive freight shipping cost. apparently people set up paypal accounts, get your money and then close the account out. and dont ever send money orders... you will never see that money again ... ebay wont refund back shipping which 90% of the time is the majority of the total price of the product. Also, there is a processing fee of $30 bucks as well to file a claim. So if you pay $50 bucks for something and $30 bucks shipping = $80...seller disappears and u file a claim... $80- 30 shipping - another 30 for the processing...you get a whopping 20 bucks of the 80 you spent back.... i dont know if things changed but it used to be like that.
cobaltcoupe 07-23-2007, 12:02 PM The projectors from both places are the same. Same quality, same design, just the same thing exact. I bought mine from ebay and no problems.
Rangerondubz 07-23-2007, 12:06 PM What vendor did your projectors off of on ebay?

lol things have changed. pay pal can see the exact total of what you paid for the product and you get a full refund. i dont know what you did different but yea. maybe you should lower your headlights price to be more competitive ;)

rrutter81 07-23-2007, 06:07 PM id do it just to support CA....however i will be supporting them already with their fenders and perhaps one of their hoods later. Wish they had automatic lambo doors. im not a fan of lifting those things.

Coors 07-26-2007, 10:03 AM haha no ive ordered from ebay plenty of times. got screwed twice.. and pay pal refunded all of my money including shipping.. so your wrong buster brown. lol
Ummm no.
If the guy has no money in his Paypal account it won't happen. They won't take it from his bank or CC account when it comes to a dispute. However, the Paypal account will show in the negative for the seller and when more money comes into the account for the seller it'll zip back to the buyer who filed the dispute. However that's a big IF. I always buy from sellers who do a lot of transactions. That way I can pretty much guarentee my money back.
sick06cobalt 07-26-2007, 12:09 PM Hey i have pics of my projectors at night... they are the CA ones so let me know
CCBalla10 07-26-2007, 12:57 PM they are exactly the same...end of story
Jackalope 08-12-2007, 11:50 PM LMMFAO!!!! He said Buster Brown!
