That Talon is weak, I'll find the pictures of my street when I finished off my O.E. Goodyears on my Camaro SS.

And mcphatty must have unloaded the axel going around that small curve to spin just one. Even a LSD equiped car would do that.

GM was dumb for not making the LSD standard.

forgot to mention thats all in 2nd gear too- i dont know if you guys can see it or not, but there is a mailbox in the distance where i started... came out of the driveway spinning the tires in first, turned to the right and as soon as i threw it in second, the tire on the right of the car just started smoking like crazy. the whole street was filled with smoke, it looked WAY cooler in the process of it actually happening

as far as the burnout goes, i wasnt trying to impress anyone or anything, i just thought i'd share it with everyone, as it did surprise me to see the tires spin like that in second

and the max speed on my gps- dont know how that happened. i was sitting at a dead stop in a driveway when i took that picture, i just thought it would be funny to show ya guys.. cause, you know, at 273 mph, i have the FASTEST COBALT IN THE WORLD!

If that thing is sayin 273.4km then that would be 170.9mph

1.6km = 1 mile

its a garmin streetpilot gps.. they dont make that one anymore, they're all in color. i've found that having the monotone screen is much easier on the eyes than a full color display

and its not in KPH! for some reason it was glitching, and showed that i had a top speed of 273 MPH
notice the MH next to the digits of all three readings on the top line? that stands for miles per hour

would the car even goe that fast if it was going down a really steep, long hill? Also, say you had a 10 mile dragstrip; what stops the car from accerating faster and faster? (Besides the cpu)

Have you heard of the TomTom GO700? Costs like 900 bucks, but it works pretty damn good. Check it out at www.tomtom.com

drag..

do this experiment- when driving down the freeway stick your arm out the window. turn your hand so its parallel with the ground, and you'll notice that its pretty easy to keep your hand in the same place.. now turn your hand up and down, and your hand will get pushed backwards.

the engine of the car can only push the car through the wind so fast, if the body was more aerodynamic or the engine was bigger, the car would be able to go faster.

on top of that, each gear is only capable of bringing the car to a certain speed, for instance, fourth gear tops out around 120mph, and 5th gear would probably top out around 160 maybe if the engine was capable of getting the car that fast.

about the gps, this thing as been wonderful, but it fell off my dash a while ago on a hard launch, and has had minor glitches once in a while since then, but still extremely rare.

do you have anything better to do than make unneeded comments about someone you've never met about a topic that doesnt even effect you in any way, shape, or form?

if it really bothers you that much, you've got WAY too much time on your hands. just STFU and enjoy your cobalt.

YO Dude

You need to stop with the bashing buddy. He was just having a little fun with his car doing a burnout. Its not like he was abusing his car or trying to break it. Its not your car anyway, so I suggest you find something else to worry about.

The Cobalt SS is a performance vehicle, so its expected that people are going to drive them as such.
