CTORANGESC 07-26-2007, 07:32 PM How long will this last. I may have to change my mind
Eng@RebelAutoWorxs 07-26-2007, 07:36 PM 3 Weeks
CTORANGESC 07-26-2007, 07:37 PM Now the hunt begins for some money. Damn I wish I didnt have my car tax to pay next week
UmeNNis 07-26-2007, 07:43 PM is the surge tank neccesary?
poppagun 07-26-2007, 07:45 PM i will put a down payment down right now. im in
Omega_5 07-26-2007, 07:45 PM 3 Weeks
Ah shit... that's it?
CTORANGESC 07-26-2007, 07:45 PM Its just a bigger tank with more holding capacity which equals more cooling
shawns94 07-26-2007, 07:55 PM Can we get a discount if we don't need the tune file? What type of injectors?
CTORANGESC 07-26-2007, 07:57 PM The tune file is extra anyways, Its not included in the price
shawns94 07-26-2007, 07:58 PM O I C!!! I am dumb.
UmeNNis 07-26-2007, 08:05 PM should be able to get a discount if we ship you our stock eatons. =)
R&C_rallySS 07-26-2007, 08:10 PM should be able to get a discount if we ship you our stock eatons. =)
That question has been answered in another thread. As far as I know you can not. I would buy this now if my warnity is up. Good luck guys, thats a great price. 5 lucky people will be very happy.
2K5SS/SC? 07-26-2007, 08:11 PM Can you take our stock eaton in for a trade for the suggested $500 you have posted on the 2.4L kit release? If so please let us know, as I'm sure you'll receive business even faster from both venues! That would mean I could pay for my kit on Aug 15th, and since Mase already has my blower I might be the second car to get to try this badboy out!
edit - I know they said most likely no on the blower trade, but they would be really smart if they did considering the 2.4L M62 kit release.
zinner 07-26-2007, 08:15 PM So where is the shop? Phone number?

chevysalesman614 07-26-2007, 10:06 PM no problem, but its good i noticed it early.
Smarty Art 07-26-2007, 10:18 PM Just waiting to see what Hahn comes up with to make my decision. Hopefully they have a price and numbers before the 3 weeks is up. I'm leaning towards the twin screw. I can't give up instant boost and the sound. There are enough turbos running around here anyway.
I can't wait to see what a car does with meth, full 3" exhaust, good tune, and a small pulley. Most likely explode.
Johnboy12358 07-26-2007, 10:45 PM Shit. I need some money. And there is none!
pimpnwink 07-26-2007, 10:52 PM this is awesome but i need to see the other thungs that will be available soon before i decide which route to take. Thanks for giving us more options.

IDK man, I think I'm gonna get to about 340whp with this one.. Seems perfect to me, I get to keep my SS S/C supercharged, and kick a bit of ass at the track.
"You gotta pay to play." :twothumbs
Shortbus 07-26-2007, 11:08 PM Hats off to you guys, iam all for it i just dont have that kind of money to shell out for 300whp.
chevysalesman614 07-26-2007, 11:11 PM ^^ i'll post a thread about my dyno session the same day I get and install it :) i forsee a long night, lots of redbull, and an awesome trip to the track someday around 2 months from now :twothumbs

340whp wow that would be very nice... cant wait to see a dyno vid from that
what mods are you planning to have done
im way to excited for this
Blown 4-banger 07-26-2007, 11:26 PM Would you sell JUST the adaptor plates? Should I still decide to use the W75AX (same as the 1200AX), it would be much quicker to just buy the adaptors and throw the W75 on there.
Shortbus 07-26-2007, 11:27 PM When i see a dyno of well over 300 whp and the motor still intact i will consider but as of right now there a other mods to get close to 300whp so i dont see spending 3k for that 20+ extra whp worth it, but all in all congrats to rebel in completing the kit!

I was thinking the same thing as for a future upgrade to this kit when the bottom end is fully built. :twothumbs Can't beat that rediculous 20000+ max rpms from the whipple, but good luck finding one as they don't make/sell them anymore.

Yeah, I know. I'm looking into a way of possibly upgrading the 1200AX for 20,000 rpm. I don't know though, I think it might be because of the cast rotors, vs. forged rotors. You definatly don't want to overspin a twin screw. Bye bye twin screw, hello frag grenade

sure your cost would be $1799
zinner 07-27-2007, 12:34 AM IS their a calibration for HPtuners that you guys are providing with the kit?
Eng@RebelAutoWorxs 07-27-2007, 12:36 AM IS their a calibration for HPtuners that you guys are providing with the kit?
yes the tune is extra as stated, it should be dead on as we test our tunes on the street aswell. It's a bonus if you have or know someone who has HPT so you can tweak it with your elevation and temps.

Sorry I meant to ask is it unlocked. Sounds like it is.
SUKXOST 07-27-2007, 12:50 AM very tempting but a little high on the price for now. Great that you came up with it so fast but paying extra for that is a hard pill to swallow. Looks and sounds great guys!

ssmokin 07-27-2007, 01:37 AM will these kits still be produced, say, 6 months from now?
Jmc007 07-27-2007, 02:48 AM What happened @ 5700 RPM's on the dyno shart ? Knock retard ? You know I'm concerned with that ...
Sales@rebelautoworxs 07-27-2007, 04:42 AM It went way rich on the map No knock at all.
Red2.4SS/SC 07-27-2007, 05:10 AM someone better buy this and come run me

Why not just go bigger like maybe a 1600? Would that even fit?

exactly since it will be the same price.
Rangerondubz 07-27-2007, 09:41 AM Can I get an "I Owe You"?
Z Speed 07-27-2007, 10:07 AM so after this group purchase will this still be available? if this gp were able to go for like 2 months I could come up with the cash but 3 weeks is 2 short for me so I will wait till tax return time

they should be able to , shit i can finance a Squires Turbo Kit for my car , i dont see why they wont let you finance this
l337m4573rpyr0 07-27-2007, 03:26 PM If you guys offered financing and a "core rebate" for our stock SC's I would be all over this.
Jmc007 07-27-2007, 03:58 PM It went way rich on the map No knock at all.
Is that possible that you tune it rich (10:1 AFR) for the last RPM's on purpose ? Are you keeping some HP's hidden somewhere so you'll be more fierce later against competitors ?
One thing guys is the fact that those US guys ordering this kit will have to pay some cutsom fees, since the seller is in Canada. Pay attention it could be pricey !!!!
Acidangel_5.0 07-27-2007, 04:09 PM take kit.. drive across border.. send through mail.. problem solved.. lol
Johnboy12358 07-27-2007, 04:22 PM Damn customs. I thought our borders were open because we love the canadians so much? eh?
Eng@RebelAutoWorxs 07-27-2007, 04:54 PM We aren't setup for doing financing. As we said before we aren't going to be taking M62 on cores for the 2.4L kits.
There shouldn't be any issues with customs. We'll make sure of that.

SS SCHGD 07-28-2007, 02:51 AM not that I'm not interested, but this is the first I've heard of this company. I'm not able to purchase this right now, but am looking to buy a twinscrew set up in the semi near future. Is there a reason I should choose this one over the "TAG/Mase" one, or even the Centrifugal? Is there a lot of testing with it? Do I need to do anything else with this or will my stock car be ok with this as a 1st upgrade? Maybe some info on the shop? I guess I'd like some idea that there is some history in this company here... The price seems reasonable to me though.

need another beer/shot?
tcolli17 07-28-2007, 03:32 AM I don't know about anyone else, but I would have to see a fully tested kit before I buy it, i.e. dyno chart with full pull (7k) and a vid of that pull. I don't see why you guys only ran it to 6k or so unless there was something wrong.
UmeNNis 07-28-2007, 03:59 AM there was... some sort of tune issue i believe was stated
2K5SS/SC? 07-28-2007, 10:36 AM need another beer/shot?
Yeah, sorry about that earlier this morning. I had a bunch of beer and shots last night leading up to my drunk typing. :) I need to go find some water now.
We can get this thread back on track now again.
SS SCHGD, the kit was the TAG/Mase one. What happened is that when Jim got let go from TAG, Mase kept the kit going until he found some help. Basically TAG dumped the kit and no longer wanted anything to do with it. Rebel Auto Worx picked up and helped Mase finish the kit seeing it was something that there was a decent demand for it. Thus now Rebel is selling the kit.
On the Tuning issue, when you are starting from scratch tuning a car, you just don't go fulll out WOT. You have to do it in little bits or else you could blow your engine. Thus, the dyno was stopped at 5700ish because the car went rich off the map. When that happens, which is better than going lean off the map, you lean out the car a little until it is where you want it. Then you can progress on all the way until you're finished. This process can take several hours easily!
If the car was rich off the map and making 281whp@5700rpms, follow that nice whp line up to where it would be at 7000rpms because the car will make even more boost up top and I'd bet you'd find that it lands somewhere in the 315whp area. Now, lean it out a bit to get a nice 11.5-11.8 A/F ratio, and I think 350whp would easily be attainable especially if you have a full exhaust and other supporting mods. Just my take though. ;)

I was in the same boat as you last night lol Let's hope 350whp is possible from this :)
Eng@RebelAutoWorxs 07-28-2007, 01:20 PM we didn't take it to 7000rpm because we wanted to tune the VE and some other spots first on the street and then putting it on the dyno again. Also we didn't want to break the test car's clutch:lol:
There's no doubt that with proper mods and a 7000rpm this thing should make 350WHP.
1gmfanatik 07-28-2007, 01:35 PM That's awesome to hear. Damn I love my car. Damn I love Rebel Auto Worxs. LMAO!! Keep up the good work, I'm still interested in how well our stock internals will last with efficient and less heat producing power mods.
Red2.4SS/SC 07-28-2007, 01:57 PM this is great news for the cobalt guys , hopefully it works out with no internal failures 350 WHP is sweet

NIOCE!!! Maybe that will help my decision on wheather or not I'm going Turbo or some sort of Charger swap. (Twinscrew or Procharger)
BoomInIt 07-28-2007, 03:49 PM I will be getting mine dyno tuned right after the swap. Looking for around 325whp+ maybe even 350whp with my supporting mods!

You have to remember that they are running the kit on a pretty much stock car. At those power levels I think he is referring to the clutch and axles more than the engine itself. In fact, I know that the stock clutch is what they are concerned about. Trust me on this one. ;)
yea there are just worried about my clutch

It's always a risk with any aftermarket upgrade. Any vendor that tells you different isn't doing you any favors and sets the wrong expectation.
UmeNNis 07-31-2007, 05:27 PM Okay well, im in Rebel... just need to see it finished! oh and with the tune you'll be offering... how does that work, you just send the file and anyone with hpt can just use it to program the car with?
Sales@rebelautoworxs 07-31-2007, 09:17 PM Yes the Tune file can be sent to someone with acess to HP tuners.
The first ones are Shipping at the end of this week.
2K5SS/SC? and boominit Will have theres early next week, they can tell everyone how they like the kits!

Now that the cat is out of the bag, I'm freaking totally stoked about getting this kit on so soon! This is the perfect culmination to my vacation!
On a serious note, please hold the PM's until after I post the full out details. My box is almost full with important stuff I can't delete until after the install. ;)
quadracer0387 07-31-2007, 11:08 PM im also in if everything goes well
and do the stock internals, clutch, axles need to be upgraded?
if so what too?
shawns94 07-31-2007, 11:16 PM or through Paypal to sales@rebelautoworxs.com a 3% fee will apply with this option.
From my understanding it is illegal to add that charge onto your total cost. So you might not want to use paypal.

I would be more interested around tax return time too. Would also give time to arrange buyers for old parts.
By the way if anyone was questioning why the twinscrew wasn't better check this out. Even eaton supports the twinscrew over the roots. And the graphs are insane in comparison. http://www.kennebell.net/techinfo/general-info/twinscrew-vs-roots-fromcatalog.pdf Not sure if anyone has posted this before or not.

 people break axels stock so defanetly, internals SHOULD be ok until 300 hp but with better efficiency people are begining to think that the the engine can take more and it is the heaton killing it. Clutch defanetly needs to be upgraded
Eng@RebelAutoWorxs 08-02-2007, 09:51 PM clutch would be the 1st upgrade required with this kit, you can't make more power without some drive trains mods.
the turbo cobalt made 323WHP with stock internals and the guy is driving the car everyday!
axles are recommend if you make frequent visits to the track with drag rails or slicks
ralliartist 08-04-2007, 11:38 AM I've been waiting on this just like everyone else. too bad the funds just aren't there. If you guys do another group buy around tax time. I will for sure get this kit. great way to come out next year with new mods. :)
Sanat 08-06-2007, 05:28 PM i soo wish i had the money right now!!!

OneAMCoffee 09-19-2007, 05:20 PM Will we be able to purchase the dual pass plate as stand alone? Just looking for a solution for dual pass besides the GM. Thanks!

From what I understand this is a special dual pass meant for the new blower swap. It will not work with your current SC from what I understand. The GM dual pass will not work with this set up and thats why they created their own setup. I'm sure they will chime in and let us know.
mikess06 10-04-2007, 07:51 PM so has anyone installed this yet on there car if so what kinda numbers
Any update with the folks that have this installed now? I'm trying to weigh my options as well, this looks like a promising upgrade.
