I've seen an LT with the SS spoiler...yuck. I also saw one of those hideous GTX or something Cobalts. Pure ugliness

i saw 2 red 1's when i was in cali a few weeks ago , both were base models , and had a 1 windshield banner that said chevrolet

and both were at different dealers , looked like the only option was door locks , 1 had drak grey int, other was tan int

they looked kinda goofy

I think the SS spoiler looks TERRIBLE on an LS or LT without a body kit. If you get a Razzi or anything better than the regular body then it looks good in my opinion. Somebody here has a yellow LS with a Razzi kit, SS spoiler, and 17" rims.. I thought it looked very very nice.

Yep, your's looks great also because you have the SS front and the rear valence. In one or two of your pics you have it without the rear valence and it doesn't look as good. I think since the spoiler is so high the bottom of the car needs to be low.. which is exactly what you have there I'm hoping to do something similar to my car.

exhaust burnt a hole in my valence. im gonna fix it tom ironicly and put it back on. the valence also makes the back look a lot lower to the ground and completes the look i think

I never realized that before. I just thought you guys were being **** about people using the SS-SC wing on lower model Cobalts!

It seriously looks bad with the regualr Cobalt bumber. The lower valence on the bumper sets it off. I think it is because the car looks taller, so the wing appears smaller! I never realized how it looks so bad on a a base car, but works with the ground effects kit!

aww thats a pretty car up there

but serously tho. i do agree w/ you. the ass end looks huge and real high in the air w/ the spoiler on and no valence on the rear. w /the valence it deffintly brings the body lines down lower making it look better and flow much better aswell.

ryan

Ill try to take some more pics tomorrow when i get my valence back on.

iv been thinking. If i go w/ a carbon fiber trunk should i keep the rear valnce on? keep the wing on?carbon fiber center peice for the win? lose the wing and the valcene? or just lose the wing? lol im also going to get a carbon fiber hood next summer. so what do you guys think would look best w/ a cf trunk? thanks for your time

I don't understand the concept of a wing on the back or a front wheel drive car, anyway. If it's providing downforce at the back, isn't that causing lift at the front? One would think lift at the drive wheels would be a bad thing no matter where they're located. Maybe if the wing on the back of a front wheel drive car provided lift...
Feel free to shoot large ragged holes in this theory, please.

I've taken my spoiler off and driven down the highway - the car is much more stable at speeds over 90mph with the spoiler on, reguardless of how much it flaps in the mirror.

my cars looks WAY better with teh SS wing then it did with the LS wing.. I get compliments on my car everywhere i go. And when i go to the races on saturday nights everyone always gives me props about its appearance.

My car looks a little different from the pictures cause i got tint and stuff now but still .

to each his own though.

the problem with the ss wing on the base cobalt is that unless you work on the car to make is as fast or FASTER than the ss, you are giving cobalt's a bad name... people see that wing and think ss... so when you get smoked by cars that shouldn't beat the ss, that's how it starts

it can work both ways. then when they come up against a real SS they think like WTF WAS THAT!

and other peoples IGNORANCE is not my problem. just because a car has laser blue paint and the SI wing doesnt make it an SI, just because a cobalt has an SS wing doesnt mean its supercharged.

FLCobalt,
Do you tell women you meet that you're a big shot from a New York record label and you work with the Ying Yang Twins and 50 Cent? That they invite you over to their crib all the time to party, that you have a Ferrari and a Rolls Royce, and have a black card?
Because that's the same thing you're sporting with that SS SC wing. Others people ignorance doesn't make them the chump, it makes you one.

like i said, if they are ignorant enough to believe a lie that elaborate then thats not my fault.

Knowledgable people cannot be responsible for other peoples ignorance especially when the information is easily obtainable.

At one point i didnt even know the SS had a body kit, but from being on here and learning i know better now.

Besides if you can read the badges clearly say LS!
