Cool My nitrous setup! PICS

So first of all i want to thank Joe (ItalianJoe1) for helping me install this and getting me hooked on the nossss lol. Its a Wet ZEX kit right now we are spraying a 50 shot and let me tell you this thing pulls damn hard! My 2nd gear is like first now and it breaks the tires loose for a second when you hit it. We have a WOT switch, but its not behind the gas pedal, but rather in our shifting hand . Here are some pics:

The bottle Behind the seat for easy access.

The WOT switch in my hand:

And the engine bay:

Joe made a coupler out of reinforced silicon and tapped the nozzle into the bottom of it for stealth, but the purple nut on the fuel rail is a dead give away Im gonna try and get to the track soon when i get drag radials and axles to see what the car can do. Right now it feels an easy high 12 second maybe mid 12's with a great launch. Next up is a bottle warmer and possibly some kind of purge kit, but we are thinking of purging into the intercooler to cool things down a bit before a run. Thanks for looking!

-Brian

I plan on this as well, but a 75 shot instead. I run on 2.8 with 42s, but will go to 60's first.

yes sir.

My afr with the 2.7 pulley at WOT is 10.8-11.0 and when i spray the afr is 10-10.5 so it is in the safe area and i could still make more power by leaning out the car some but i would rather be safe than sorry

I was never in a car with nitrous of any sort. I can only imagine how it feels when you press that button. It seems if you can get the same power (2.5" no nitrous vs 2.7" with) or maybe even a little more, will be better overall for the motor. Seems this may be the good route to go instead of running the smallest pulley possible. Did you notice a nice drop in IAT2s?

I dont have an intercpetor yet but im sure it cooled the car down alot. When you push the button the whole front end lifts up and puts you back in your seat then you go . O and 2.7 is the smallest anyone should go from my experience the 2.5 kills the blower with heat and overspinning. I lost to a 2.7 pullied cobalt with less exhaust mods than me by a fender when i had the 2.5 bc the car heats up way to fast and again the overspinning kills the blowers powerband. Plus my car off bottle feels alot faster on the 2.7 with Ljavy17's tune

So do you have to activate and deactivate the nitrous? Like so you get on it in 2nd say and spray at WOT till right before redline do you have to press it again to shut it off and shift? It sounds like the gm stage 3 works pretty good, even though its a dry shot, how it deactivates 500 rpm before redline. Seems the members with that setup like it very much.

No all i have to do is open the bottle and whalla. Ok lets say you do a 40 roll you go WOT then hold the nitrous switch down and when you goto shift to 3rd you let go of the nitrous switch before you stop going WOT and before you put the clutch in for 3rd than when in 3rd going WOT hit the nitrous again. It seems complicated but its easy once you get the hang of it. Im gonna go run a stage 2 STi right now brb

let us know how that works against that STi, I would think putting the NOS button below the pedal would be easier but congrats on the NOS and setup looks nice man

I see what you are saying. Seems you just do it manually where the gm stage 3 pcm does it for you. Just don't forget to release it.

+rep Very nice Brian. Please do keep us up to date. Now, I do have a question for you. You mention about purging it into the intercooler. When you purge it, is the air cold or something?

I am new to the whole nitrous thing guys so be gentle....lol. I have heard that if you mount the bottle sideways it messes with the performance of the nitrous system. What I am asking is do you have to mount the bottle "vertical" or is it fine to mount it like yellowcobalt did??

youll get best use out of the n2o with the nozzle end angled up and the bottle mounted like so.

I can still reach the bottle without having to get up.
