I am getting a wierd "burning" smell from the engine, and it also happens whenever you turn on the heat or A/C, the whole car smells like burnt toast...anyone else getting this? What is this usually indicative of?

Don't know what it is though Brian's07SS 07-29-2007, 02:33 PM ive noticed a weird smell when the A/C is turned on but then it goes away.. Not sure what it smells like.. an0malous 07-29-2007, 02:35 PM if its when the AC is on, its likely something to do with your belt, or the AC compressor clutch. Dealership time. (ive already had 1 clutch replaced) Ya it was wierd, I thought the problem always existed, but it seems to only occur when I have the AC on and am really hammering the engine, then even if I turn off the AC, the smell is still there even 2 hours later...not sure what's going on, hopefully it has nothing to do with the fender bender i got into (cobalt might me lighter but nothing compares to the brakes in the Equinox!! that thing could stop on a dime) Mike85220 07-31-2007, 04:03 PM I get that only if I have a heavy acceleration moment and then slow down quick. It can be: A) the brakes B) that POS plastic cover is getting toasted (it has a foam lining on the inside) |
