You're probably fucked. My gfs old 535i would hang with me and I've run a 14.6 at the track which isn't stellar but atleast I know exactly what times I'm capable of as a driver. If you haven't ran at the track you you don't know and let me tell you I know a lot of guys with SS/SCs that think they are hot **** and are good drivers and then rip of 15.0s their first few runs at the track.
I wouldn't bet 1000$ bucks you would win.

here is a review from Motor Trend>
Stepping up to the 540i delivers one of the best V-8s on earth, a 4.4-liter/282-horsepower DOHC jewel that (thanks to its 310 pound-feet of torque available across a wide rpm band) feels like more. Lots more. Switch off the traction control, rev 'er to four grand, drop the clutch, and this Bavarian beast will mark over 75 feet of pavement with smoky Dunlop imprints. Zero-to-sixty mph takes a ponycar-eating 5.6 seconds, with the quarter mile eclipsing in 14.0 seconds at 100.7 mph. Thanks to the perfect spacing of gear ratios in the six-speed box, each redline upshift places the engine back in the fat part of the power curve, making the acceleration from 100 to 150 mph as exhilarating as many of the world's big-name performance cars. But at the same time, the engine remains silky smooth in everything it does, whether rushing to redline or pulling a steep grade in top gear. It's truly a magnificent powerplant.
Acceleration, 0-60 mph, sec 5.6
Quarter mile, sec/mph 14.0/100.7
Braking, 60-0 mph, ft 121
Slalom, mph 67.0
Lateral acceleration, g 0.85
I don't know if I would pony up a G note
