question about scdyne's header

it may well be known that i'm not fond of the scdyne products, but i got a serious question

why would they have put the o2 sensor on a single exhaust tube and not in the collector where it can get a more accurate reading of what the engine needs? cause if that one cylinder starts running rich or lean, the o2 sensor is going to change the fuel map for the entire engine.

i might be wrong here, but it seems that it would've been safer to put it on the collector where it could monitor the majority of all four cylinders

Good question... ive never seen a pic of SCDyne's latest header...

I dont think it would be too damaging though... as far as I knew the o2 sensor can only make minor fuel adjustments..

Wow that was really stupid of them. Got any pics? And if you don't think that will cause problems....just wait and see.

that's exactly what i was thinking. i don't know why i didn't notice it until this morning. hell even our stock manifolds have them at the collector (as small as it is) i know on blown/turbo cars, it's much more susceptible to damage than on a n/a car... it is definitely a bad design in my book.

Look this is a bunch of BS
Questions??
Selfinfliction is associated with/sponsored by/works for (circle any one that applies) TOG so it's no wonder he's on here asking stupid questions and posting smack. The other LOCKED thread regarding the SCDYNE header being defective is a bunch of CRAP and related to the 1st revision of his header sold to a handful of ION REDLINE owners long before the Cobalt SS was even out. The SCDYNE quotes that selfinfliction posted were in fact FROM the Redline forums. There was a couple of issues with the first design BUT back way back in June SCDYNE posted in the Redline forums that if you were a purchaser of the original header design you could contact him for a "new version" replacement. Most have, some not.
(Guess selfinfliction didnt get that memo as he doesnt HAVE and SCDYNE header and has nothing to bitch about.)

To the best of my knowledge selfinfliction has never purchased, installed or even TOUCHED an SCDYNE header - (I've done three now and will continue to recommend and use them) Besiides it being the only header available NOW...TODAY it makes good power which is all I care about! Maybe I'm just not that fussy on header "cosmetics" but I dont even care about a few globby welds- I've installed probably close to 500 sets of headers- and I've seen far far worse

It's amazing what lengths people will go to get a "free" header
Enjoy your TOG pipes selfinfliction, but I hope for everyone's sake that you have not been put up to these defamation tactics by TOG as the ****'s about to hit the proverbial fan.
Regards
