Just goes to show the Asian bias of the general car buying populous.

Slap a Toyota badge on a Cobalt and suddenly it becomes high quality, with nice fit and finish, and a nice ride. But put a Chevy badge on, and its unreliable, mediocre, and hobbled together. Just goes to show you I could crap in a box, slap a Toyota badge on it, and the general public would sing its praises and it would get top rating in Consumer Reports.

Sad.

 

The name of a car does not influence me to buy it.

I research my cars before i make any type of payment on it. i like to know what it has, what it can have, what other cars are like it, why it stands out, why does they choose this or that.

did you know that the TSX is actually all designed by Honda?

Acura bought it from honda because they didnt have a car of there own to fill that slot.

 

I love my Cobalt, but if it came out as a Ford then i don't know if i would of really looked into it. ha ha

but acura is honda's US luxury division.

acura also has a CSX and CSX-S in other parts of the world, which is basically a rebadged civic sedan/coupe and sedan/coupe Si. the build is the same, the price is jacked up.

saturn SKYs are rebadged Opel GTs. over in europe, Opel GTs are pretty sweet sports cars, but it took awhile for people to warm up to a... SATURN, just because it's a saturn.

bc i drive a saturn, ppl think, "psh, its just a saturn" and think nothing of it, but when i cut their doors, they pissed and sell their cars (that may be stretching it a bit)

but if i had an ss/sc, ppl would understand a little bit better

This is why i love saturns new commercials. sky rolls by then you get the dumb founded look and...."thats a saturn?"

both the redlines and the ss's get flack from other car drivers...i suppose maybe the redlines get a bit more.

Look at all the bad press Saturn gets for using the center gauge pod in the Ion, but there never is any bad press when Toyota does it. Honestly, if Toyota had made the Aztek the media would have loved it.
