View Full Version : Ported Cylinder heads!
Sales@rebelautoworxs 08-06-2007, 08:56 PM Hey guys just like Let everyone we're working on putting together s Ported CNC cylinder head package for the 2.0l LSJ.
We'll have a few different versions of the head from various aftermarket options such as upgrades valves and oversized valves beefier springs aswell.
These heads will come to you in a complete bolt on state unless otherwise specified.
We're about 2-3 weeks away from recieving our first samples CNC heads.
We'll post up some great pictures for everyone to see aswell as Flow numbers.
With all of our products dyno numbers to back things up.
At this point we need to build an inventory of cores to keep wait times down on these. So if you have a head in good shape shoot us a pm on the price for your head.
Should have some preliminary Pricing up in a few days.
We're trying to keep this Cost effective.
06blackg85ss 08-06-2007, 08:57 PM I have a head with about 8k on it with cams... how much on trade
btw which company you getting the cnc'd ones from?
chevysalesman614 08-06-2007, 08:58 PM Oh Snap!
Luv2Race 08-06-2007, 09:02 PM Sweet hopefully they are some good ones for a good price too..... I really need to get a new head or get mine done.
Sales@rebelautoworxs 08-06-2007, 09:03 PM Can't devulge that info. But I will say they Do some SERIOUS Stuff, they've done work for may of the top domestic and import crowd along with the V8 boys.
They know what they are doing.
I don't know what the heads are really worth these days. We're going to have to call around to souce bare heads.
All of the heads are going to be based on a core return policy. We provide you with a Ported version then send back your stocker.
06blackg85ss 08-06-2007, 09:06 PM aaah... ok from one of the last shops I was dealing with, really can't port them too much, they used my head for cad renderings to make a full CNC head (whole new casting) , I was hoping that was the shop you were dealing with.
Sales@rebelautoworxs 08-06-2007, 09:11 PM At this point I don't think there is a need or demand to make a new casting. the 2.2l eco Head has made over 1400hp on a stock ported head with o rings.
The Beauty of a CNC port is its the same every damn time and the same to every darn port. Not some some backyard head porter sand rolling your head and saying he ported your head. There is no way he can even come close to how accurate the cnc head is.
06blackg85ss 08-06-2007, 09:13 PM sounds good to me... that's what my plan was, minus the 1400hp though.. and the 2.2 head needed significant reworking to handle that power though, which the 2.0 head has built in already though.
Sales@rebelautoworxs 08-06-2007, 09:17 PM The 2.0L head is a stout Piece and sand cast. Lots of stuctural webing to stiffen the deck surface. Blowing head gaskets will be very hard to do on this motor with simple head studs and a cometic or SCE ICS copper Titan gasket.
g5mike 08-06-2007, 09:52 PM bet you its the same people i got my good stuff from!!! this is a nice step in the right direction. Are you guys doing this also for the le5,there are some 2.4 guys into all motor builds?
CobaltSS313 08-06-2007, 09:56 PM HAHAHA yesss +1 rep again...you guys are saweet
Sales@rebelautoworxs 08-06-2007, 10:03 PM At this Point we don't have any plans for the 2.4l get me a spare head and i can have it evaluated. We can see how much different the ports are.
g5mike 08-06-2007, 10:06 PM At this Point we don't have any plans for the 2.4l get me a spare head and i can have it evaluated. We can see how much different the ports are.cant help you there i need mine to get around.lol
UmeNNis 08-06-2007, 10:07 PM finish the 2.0 blower swap first? =( and maybe the 2.4 also lol. but props to you guys for rapidly becoming a very important vendor here!
Sales@rebelautoworxs 08-06-2007, 10:12 PM The Blower swaps are done sir.
Just need some More people to bolt em on! To show the masses what we can do!
2K5SS/SC? 08-06-2007, 10:40 PM I'll be taking not of this thread for the future as my TS will definitely like this addition to breath a bit better. :)
Scythe_Snake 08-06-2007, 10:43 PM Subscribing. Now something to combat JBPs stuff. Will you all be making yours on equal par with theirs? Or hell, even better? I'd love to see this. Good luck Rebel. you guys are doing your thing and doing it well!!

i checked out your site, didn't see anything about the blower on there.
back on topic, i agree, do a 2.4 head for us guys with the big motor.
Sales@rebelautoworxs 08-06-2007, 10:51 PM Site isn't updated yet too many hours spent in the shop working on Tuning solutions and kits.
I have yet to See ANY flow numbers and or results on a JBP head.
The head work will Be top Notch and race worthy!
The company we are working with has gotten some cars 4 cylindercars into the 6's in the quater mile.
Our head will come fully documented. We support what we sell!!
an0malous 08-06-2007, 10:53 PM so what does a mod like this do for you.
What kind of projected/hopeful power gains?
any ballpark guesses on pricing?
Eng@RebelAutoWorxs 08-06-2007, 11:19 PM it basically allows more air inside the cylinder chamber before combustion and at the same time it allows the exhaust gases to flow out easier....no use in getting a bigger exhaust if your engine can't fill it.
We're hoping for 35-40HP on a GM stage 2 setup.
Price will be based on what you want (type of valves, springs, etc) but we will be very competitive.
an0malous 08-06-2007, 11:24 PM ohhh wow.
that sounds very promising.
Hope this pans out well. might be on a real winner here!
SSKobald 08-06-2007, 11:30 PM Im Interested
NGalaxyTimmyo 08-06-2007, 11:48 PM Do a good job and don't triple what it's worth like some other vendor out there, and I'll think about it. I'm really interested in hearing flow numbers though. That will get me to buy a head.
UmeNNis 08-07-2007, 12:21 AM ermm... but you haven't posted the dyno numbers for the blower swap. is your tune completed?

I had the same thought  I just didn't know how to word it without being offensive.
Jmc007 08-07-2007, 01:22 AM Any idea how many hours it can takes to get the head (and valve springs) changed by a speed shop ?
ItalianJoe1 08-07-2007, 01:30 AM I will really be looking into this when I have the funds availible. I would love to go to a fully worked head, and you guys sound like you are taking the right steps to ensure a quality product.

Alright, I officially love Rebel Auto Worxs

I'm DEFINITELY SOLD!!!!! That means with more HP, the flow should show bigger gains, correct?
ohhh wow.
that sounds very promising.

06blackg85ss 08-08-2007, 07:29 PM nice
Scythe_Snake 08-10-2007, 11:07 AM This is really nice. I hope you guys lower the price slightly though, as I would LOVE to jump all over this. Twinscrew +ported cylinder head = sex!!! I think I just fell back in love with the TS. =p
PS: later, you guys should offer some cams to add with it, for an additional fee though. That would be absolutely amazing!!!
redd214 09-21-2007, 06:29 PM Have you guys made any progress with this, i'm eagerly awaiting the results??!!?!
Rippin07 10-05-2007, 02:34 AM Yep, still waiting here too.
Eng@RebelAutoWorxs 10-05-2007, 12:26 PM Yep, still waiting here too.
we have to get more heads to the porting shop as they don't want to just make one. Will have one more to them next week.
Don't worry we haven't forgotten about this
skymynx 11-21-2007, 08:36 PM been over a month. whats the story?
Avrj123 11-21-2007, 08:47 PM Interested, missed the first time around, subscribing for update.

They guy that tought me how to port built a 722hp small block na 406 with hand ported heads.

i don't think he is dis crediting the hand ports. the point of the CNC is that from a production standpoint, the quality level is much higher at a given stand point.
in other words, someone that can hand build a great head takes 3 times the time and 4 times the cost of a good CNC operator.
sensesfail99 11-25-2007, 12:33 AM i dont know if you are still looking for heads in good shape, but I just got a new head put on my car less then 3000 miles ago.... pm me if ur interested... maybe we can make a deal?
