Gasket

Question for you guys that have done the pully swap, can we reuse the gasket between the supercharger and the intake manifold? my car has 7753 miles on it, and i would assume that the gasket is still in good shape..... someone let me know before next weekend, as i am going to do the pully swap next weekend...... Thanks

You should never reuse a gasket. Get a new one!

I do not know what the gasket looks like, but being a Chevy tech I can say, if it is a metal or plastic frame with a silicone sealing surface(silicone impregnated) type of gasket, then ,YES, you can reuse them.

I am pretty sure you can reuse the metal gasket without any ill affects. I reused mine. The sealer that is used between the gasket and blower outlet probably should be replaced especaily if it tears when you remove it.

Personally I took the blower on and off and didn't buy a new gasket or replace the bead of sealant and everything seems fine with mine.

What type of sealant did you use to reapply the bead?

I didn't replace the bead of sealant. I just checked the manual and it says only replace the gasket if it appears damaged. I think the bead of sealant is actually part of the gasket and not applied afterwards. Manual makes no mention of what the sealant is so I assumes it's part of the gasket.
