What's the difference...
oh alright thanks dude, 'cause i'm thinking about buying a cobalt but i don't want to get a manual transmission so that takes out the supercharged =[ ....unless of course i buy the supercharger and install it
^^^ exactly.
not supercharged but now could be with so many guys seller their SC's. it has tuning, better suspension, comes with all the features of the LT but better.
If i could go back... I woulda gotten a 2.4

I've owned both an LS and an SS/NA. For the money the LS is nice! Nice acceleration when you install all the GMPP parts.
The SS is like a "more-refined" car. Feels solid, much quieter, and a little more power in the "ticket-speed area" compared to the LS.

You can get the 2.4 SS, it does not have a supercharger, you can get it with an automatic. Be aware that premimum gas is reccommended. Buth the 2.2 and the 2.4 get about the same gas milage.
The LS is the basic car with no power options as standard. The LT comes with stuff like cruse, power windows, locks, thats why it costs more. I could not survive without my power windows, but thats just me.
The 2.4 SS should have all the standard options as the LT, and has bigger rims/ tires, and a stiffer suspension. If you have a bad back, don't buy the SS. If you want to feel the road, DO buy the SS.
You should test drive a 2.2 and a 2.4 before you buy one.

2. theres also a 2.4 with variable valve timing.. (171hp. automatic available) designated the Cobalt SS.. or
Cobalt Sport <--- this is the one you want probably
3. the lt and ls are a 135hp 2.2 (automatic available)

This means nothing; my dealer told me to use regular in my ss/sc!
Disagree, my 2.4 had a super smooth ride before I lowered it, I never felt any imperfection in the road. Its actually still pretty smooth, speed bumps just bounce a little more. The 2.4 comes in auto as mentioned above, if you plan on modding it may be the better option.

He has been told by the doctor that he is not to lift more than 15 pounds, thats why he can notice the difference. I am sticking with my suggestion, if you have a bad back, don't buy the SS.

your 2.4 runs on 87 but it does not run fine. you are knocking. you should be using 89.
You should get a 2.4 Cobalt, if they were available when I got my 2.2, I would have done so. And like the many before have said, the 2.4 comes in two flavors, automatic and manual, depending on your tastes.
Thats why its a good idea to check your owners manual! Dealers are useless when it comes to actualy knowing anything technical about cars. Remember they're there to get your money and sell you a car, not teach you about it.
