I just got flamed on another forum because my car was rice and a disgrace to american cars.... what do you guys think?

please no comments on the rims or exaust... I already am aware of their need to be changed... I just want to know if i am really as much rice as they say...

 

clean. Not rice. dont like the cupholder paint or vent paint, other then that love it

 

um, I don't see anything wrong with it myself. Nothing really stands out, except the trim and it's suppose too. So not sure why you got flamed for your car looking ricey. just my opinion

 

Maybe with only one window defrost vents painted.

I would say the interior is. i'm not a fan of the projectors either. But black headlights look great on a black car, it has its ups and downs.

Lose some of the orange and the floor mats and I don't think anyone would have any reason to say anything bad about your car.

Oh, before you spend the money on wheels and exhaust, its time to lower it.

XD should have said along with the rims and exaust " don't mention lowering" lol yes I know that comes first lol as for the interior trim it is actualy red... not orange (horrible lighting that day) and i'm planning to go back to the stock headlights because these things are falling apart ( there was a clear film on them and it is pealing away... it looks horrible) as for the taillights i don't like those either ( i f'ed up on them too, you live you learn right?) As for being a lil redneck... maybe... but you gotta admit... for being a redneck... Dale could out drive anyone...


On that note, anyone have a set of stock headlights that they wanna trade?

edit.. i was gonna do both defog vents... but one is held in by something and I can't get it out... and i don't want to rip it out... so ya x_x

I'm not gonna say that your car screams rice (which I feel is an incredibly cheesy way to describe a car), but I will say this:
You probably got told that because the changes you made give the car a very cheap look. The "upgrades" don't come off as being functional and aren't being accepted as being popular, coo or otherwise tasteful to the people on that forum.
I regret to inform you that I don't like it either.

it looks good dude and dont let anybody diss ur car. my car gets called rice all the time. im danm proud of my rice bitches....

 

it looks like you had good intentions on what you've done, it looks like your trying to mod on a budget, i know this cause i've been there and made mistakes..i think a few fixes and you would be on your way to a nice looking car

#1 finish painting the interior, i see the lower dash is half neutral and half black, paint that blovebox black and the handles red so it matches, and figure out how to get that vent out to finish it

#2 the tails look too dark to be functional, they sell nice tinted sets on ebay if you have the $, otherwise just wetsand them with 800ish grit sand paper and then clear coat them to give it a nice finished looking shine, and on the inners, you gotta get a little closer to the backup lense to get rid of that red ring, unless you got black rims with a red lip, then it might pull it off, im not saying it would but theres a small chance...and it would be kinda unique

weels, drop yada yada you know that stuff, but professional TINT would make it 100% better as well

and to TSA, i think one pic would have been enough

 

Well see, that wouldn't bother me, that is your opinion and you voiced it as an opionion without simply saying "rice" you gave an intelligent response that is actualy worth reading and shows me what i'm doing is wrong, as for hte taillights, yes I agree they are kinda crappy, as I said, I messed up, as for the interior it isn't done yet, it is still in progress, the headlights... I rearended a suv and had a disagreement with the tow hitch... so I couldn't afford the original headlights... I could barely afford these... so alot of the stuff was just temporary... not intent on being there perminately.

ack.. .went off on a tangent again sorry.

Anyway, with a response like yours, at least it shows your putting some thought into your response, not typing like a wild monkey, which is what it seemed like to me from the other guy.


Edit: If yo uare reffering to me... no i'm not. However, my dad spent twenty years putting foot to ass.. than was an ATC (airtraffic controller) over at Eltoro Marine base in so cal, before having several heart attacks on his way out to palmsprings on his bike in 94 x_x. so hes ex military now which entitles us to the use of the bases facilities.

yea I do need to finish the interior, i just havn't had time to get around to it (i'm taking like 18+ units at my community college) and I am between jobs at the moment (hopefully have an interview tomarrow) so money is really tight... not to mention it is my first time doing any of this lol
