ive never experienced any knock under full load at all, so why back it off if its not hurting anything? if theres any knock it will revert back to the low octane and if its more than 135 i have it set to cut boost and theres already IAT spark cutting in place as well
that is not wide open. or you're running a stock pulley. either one. at wide open. it is kinda pointless to go past 25.5 degree's the additional stress isn't worth the 1-2 hp.
what pulley are you runnin?
what pulley are you runnin?
back the timing down to max out at 25.5-26. all you are doing is pissing off the bottom end. the crank, rod, and piston are having to excert extra force to combat the extreme timing. which is causing the rod bearings to go OMGWTF!!!!!!
so in short, back the timing down
the daily tune i see about 31-32 on average on the highway. wot timing starts at 14, then ramps up to 22-23 degree's. more of a progressive ramp than anything else, unlike the retarded tune
retarded tune i see about 36 on the highway. 25-26 degree's at wide open from 2500-7000
if you want, i can check your timing map against the egt gauge in comparison to mine. to be honest, that would be the easiest way instead of saying "yes it's high" or "no, thats just right" in short, thats more or less what im using my egt for right now. aside from 140 mph blasts to see how much room i have before melt down
