im looking at getting new spark plugs and was just wondering witch of the two are better? the platinum ones are 10 more per plug so i just wanted to know because everyone has said the copper ones and then gap them to .04 and the platinum ones are already gapped so witch one is better?

platinum spark plugs can easily spell doom for a forced induction motor, so stay clear of the platinum plugs!! Iridiums are ok and copper is ok, if you were N/A then platinum would be just fine for you..I see that you have stage 2, one step colder iridiums are what I run with similar setup

part # for NGK one step colder iridium plugs are BKR7Eix, find them here

first off i thought the stock plugs were the NGK platinums? and if u are running anything other than a stock pulley u want the iridium NGK plugs that run 1 step colder, they do wonders for ur engine!

with the right plugs yes...the objective is allowing for a bigger, and faster spark without overheating the combustion chamber, copper plugs are used by many when running high boost because copper stays cool.. Irridiums can be used also if the correct heat range is used...

the stockers are just standard NGK plugs, it is a rule of thumb that platinums are not to be used in an engine that has forced induction.

turbo/supercharger/nitrous = no no for platinums. i don't care what the dealer tells you, or some monkey behind the parts counter.

X2, theres lots of info about this on this forum and goggle about this topic.....
but in short....
Platium/Iridium last a very long time, I think like 60k miles or something, but are not great in boosted cars
Copper will have to be changed often, cant remember what it is, I usally change them every 2nd or 3rd oil change

NGK BKR7E

Please stay away from platinum plugs on this motor... it's not good.

Just use the good ol' cheap copper plugs... they work best for our application.
