I need to get one cause the dealership is saying they gave it back to me, which they didn't but whatever....I'm gonna get one off the Snap On guy, cause I'm sure he'll have it....

but what is the actual name of it? I just got my 2.9 today and I really really want to get it on asap...

no one knows?

Or has anyone managed to get them out without this tool? I'm seriously so pissed about this right now...I'm being held back by a couple of screws

I would just find some replacement bolts for it, like hex bolts or something better to work with.....then you can just a vice grip or drill them out if you can't find the tool

Talked to Nate...and he does not. I'd like to find a way to do it without having to pull the charger out...I don't know if I could get a drill in that tiny area...

I've done some searching and the closest thing I can find to it is a torq bit...which still doesn't look quite right. Its more of a phillips style than a ninja star

yes, it's some off the wall special tool.....I doubt the snap on guys would have it either. If you don't want to take the charger off and drill them out, the best bet would probably find someone on here who upgraded the stage 2 pulley and will sell ya the bit. Or you could try a hefty pair of vice grips....still going to need replacement bolts to go in.

it's a specialty tool that only GM makes... and you can't order it seperate from the Stage 2 kit. The only way to get ahold of them would be to see if anyone local has Stage 2 and is willing to lend them out to you.

Otherwise... just cut the heads off the bolts... drill them out... and get some new ones.

If I were you I'd call up the parts department and ask If you can order the tool. If not, finding someone with a stage 2 to borrow the tool. Perhaps a trustworthy member of css.net!

Pulling the supercharger off takes a whole 10 minutes. Drilling the damn bolts off is whats the pain. The bit is made to strip the bolt when removing them as one side of the bit moving clockwise is flat and the counterclockwise front side rounded when trying to loosen stripping the bolt head.

GM does not want anyone removing the bolts without having a hard time at it.

Just as an update...the snap on guy says that Kentworth would be the only place to have it, because they do the majority of GM's tools. He also said you'd probably have to be a GM tech to be able to get one.

I talked to the tech that did my Stage 2 today and asked if I could have the bits back. He said first he threw them away, then he said that the got shipped back for a warranty thing...whatever.

So I guess I'm stuck drilling them out...I'll try a big Phillips, but I'm guessing that I'll only strip them.

I think I still have mine, cuz I use allan wrench bolts now. **** that blue bolt ****, my dealership stripped on when putting it on, so I had a hell of a time getting it off. Ill mail it (if I can find it) if you dont want to hassle with the drilling the bolts.
