One of the fastest 4cyl/na on the road?

i dunno about that..the RSX and SI do have more horsepower..i think it really comes down to a drivers race..they are really torqueless but i have yet to race one so i cant judge

stock Civic SI 0-60= 7.3(c&d)
1/4~15.1
stock Cobalt SS/NA 0-60=7.1(c&d)
1/4~15.5
As for s2000, and those lotuses, had no idea they were 4 cyclinders
lets say "fastest NA for under 20k"
1/4~15.1

because they have 197 horsepower with very low torque..it seems very funny..remember the cavi..it had 150/150..how could u have such high Horse power output and such little torque..

because its very low. thats why our 0-60 is faster but their 1/4 is faster. we make about 150 tq to the wheels at 4800 and they make 139 to the crank 2k later in the powerband lol which means..... its more like 100-110 @ 6800 rpm
and what he said too ^

Its not all HP/TQ tho, by fastest i mean FASTEST so you have to factor in weight and gear ration/compression all that stuff..in my honest opinion i think the honda civic SI would have the slight edge over the 2.4SS..but it would come down to a drivers race..
civic si weighs about 100-200 lbs more stock for stock. its gear ratio is larger though. mid fours i believe maybe even high. they gotta be tall to get all the way to 9000 rpms lol but i do agree they have the edge on us for sure. once they get up there that 197 horsepower is hard to beat and they'll catch up real fast so in a race you'd have to get far ahead very early
the lotus elise is an n/a four. that runs mid 13's.
the honda s2000 is a 2.2L n/a four that runs low 14's/high 13's
honda civic si and rsx-s both can run high 14's
then comes the ss/na with low 15's. I've never heard of stock ss/na's running 14's and i've personally seen a stock rsx-s do it (no si's through my eyes yet) so im gonna say they are faster.
i dont see what is so funny about the torque of the si and rsx-s...? It's a short stroke, high revving small displacement engine and it does exactly what it was made for very well. it has the right gearing, really it should still beat an ss/na to 60.

2.0L SOHC MAGNUM MOTOR
5 Speed gear box
top speed 140mph
150hp
136lbs trq
does come with a stiffer suspension than the srt4

^^were talking about NA 4 cylinders remember lol
haha stop trying to sound like you know what you are talking about. Ever heard of diesel? There are turbo-diesel pickups putting down about the same horsepower as me running 10's even though they weigh twice as much because they are making torque in the 4 digits.
horsepower sells cars, torque wins races. It is all about where in the rpm range your torque is made, how your gearing utilizes that torque, etc. There are alot more factors than just hp vs torque, but if you increase torque you always will increase horsepower, at least in the given rpm range, which is why torque is really a better REAL measurement. After all, horsepower is just a measurement of torque over a period of time. hp=(tq*rpm)/5252
