I own a black SS S/C with HID's and projector lamps and some other mods. I have "LLP" on my license plate and live up in the Thickwood area.

i'll email you tomorrow, but if u wanted to become a contractor all it really takes is for u to talk to ur company (syncrude) and basically if they are ok with it we just put you on the pay roll and vola but be aware you would be giving up your benefits. either way we'll chat more tomorrow via email.

ya i got it from audio dezigns they do all my work. i love them lol. its a kenwood 6000 series i only bought the cheaper one cause i got an amazing deal . i got it for 850 instead of 1100

They tried to get my Compustar remote starter done but they could not put it in my car....they were having problems getting the bypass module to work with the car....after 4 tries they told me that it would probably be best to go somewhere else and get it done.

They were really nice about it and tried really hard to get it to work......but for some reason the '07s are harder then the '06s. So I am taking it to Auto Dream in Calgary on Sept. 11th when I get back from my vacation out east in Quebec.

ya with my deck it took forever cuase they ordered the wrong wiring harness cause they never knew there was a different one for the o7 then when they did order the one for the 07 it was backordered haha but i didnt care to much cuase they usually give me a good deal and it wasnt there fault.

I "want to do" the Stage II upgrade. And probably a suspension drop as well. But that won't be until 2008.

I'm here from Fort McMurray! Black SS/SC -- it's 2 weeks old and I'm already having problems with it. Stalls often for no apparent reason, even at highway speed. I got it in Edmonton but it's going into AMP tomorrow. I am *not* pleased....

Probably just needs a reflash. But keep us informed on what it is! And welcome to CobaltSS.net!! Do you have the lowrise wing or the regular SS S/C wing?

I hope so and thanks! I'm thinking maybe a sensor also? I took it into AMP this morning. Anyway if its an electronic thing presumably they can put it on a scanner and figure it out. It didn't have an appointment, etc., etc., but I gave them a two-pager describing all the things that ever happened in the 2 weeks I've had it. They said they couldn't look at it today, so hopefully they'll look at it this week. I got it from Nicholson in Edmonton. I love my car though. It's black on black, low-rise spoiler (same as G5) , everything's stock. Doesn't have the LSD/Recaro pkg. but I bought it more for passing and dealing with traffic in Fort McMurray. It's awesome! Do you live in Abasand? That's where I am.

AMP is so backed up that hopefully they will be able to get to your car soon and get it fixed for you sooner rather then later.

Yah they test drove it today and they were trying to duplicate the problem. I was pretty happy that they at least started looking at it so soon, to be fair they are extremely busy. Anyway I said if it doesn't act up, keep trying. It will. I don't mind if it stays there for a while if that's what it takes. There is something seriously wrong with it just stopping all the time for no reason, and no warning. Also the supercharger doesn't really whine. It just makes this soft clicking noise. The boost gauge says it boosts ok, but I'm wondering if there's something wrong with the S/C itself.

I ordered them from The Parts Counter here in Fort Mac. Dunno if you guys have one in Calgary or not. They are AVS brand though. Each cover has six stickers, 3 for the headlight and 3 for the cover, stick em on, and they just velco together. There's also a small lip on the bottom so they kinda clip in between the headlight and bumber. I find the adhesive they use sucks balls though and they kept comin loose so I used Loctite to hold the velcro pieces on tight.

They thought they maybe fixed it but to AMPs credit they said they didn't know for sure and bring it back if it gives me more trouble. They insulated some wiring around a circuit that apparently is prone to shorting. I pick it up Friday nite and it's fine. Saturday it starts to stall. It gets worse and worse as I burn more and more gas. I 1/2 fill the tank; problem seems to go away. Eventually it stops on Abasand hill (the bottom thankfully) and I had to have it towed. It's obviously the fuel pump. They said they would look at it tomorrow (Monday). I really like my car but it was pretty unnerving when it stalled on the Athabasca bridge and I had to try to get it started at 80 km/h o/w I'd get a road tractor up my ass. Anyway AMP have been pretty good to me so far so I hope they can fix it fast.

Not sure -- I left the service docs in the car which described exactly which circuit...I will try to remember to post the info when I get the car back.

There was a faulty ground. They also replaced some of the ignition wiring as one of the cylinders started to miss. Then they had to replace to catalytic converter as the unburned fuel coming out of the cylinder that wasn't firing went into the exhaust manifold and ruined the catalyst. They had to order that part from Edmonton yesterday, so hopefully it'll be finished today.

Hah hah -- mine was "parked" at the bottom of Abasand Hill. I had to have it towed in. Anyway I am going to be a little hard to spot b/c I have the non-SC specific spoiler. Anyway, my car is all black inside and out, and it's completely stock. Probably the only way to tell me from a black 2.4L SS is the SC body mouldings and emblems and the exposed SC grille. I work downtown so I'm on Franklin a lot esp. at lunch...AMP says ready tomorrow as long as it passes the test drive ok.

I got it from a dealer in Edmonton that had a few; AMP didn't have any when I got mine in August. But I see from GM that the SS is on "hiatus." I am sure that we will see a 2009 SS/TC with the Solstice GXP engine; it will be unbelievable.

So how are the cars guys? Did you get them fixed?

mines fixed / nothing was wrong with it haha. the light went away. im ordering my wheels this week. pretty excited.

I have a '06 Black, Limo tint, ignalls and B&M sticker on the back window. We should arrange a meet if we could before the snow flies...which could be anyday now I guess..lol.

You won't need a 4x4. Every winter the FIRST vehicle you see in the ditch is somebody who has a 4x4 because they think that they can drive just the same in the winter as they do in the summer.

Just get a good set of winter tires and steelie rims (Blizzaks or Alpins are great tires). You will do just fine.

Well your "summer tires" on the SS are all season tires....unless you have aftermarket rims and tires. On the SS S/C....they come with Pirelli "summer only" tires.....so I have to get winters.

But no matter what car you drive....you put winters on....and it is a much better car in the snow.

Hey fellas! I'm in Ft. Mac for a while working with LEDCOR, on a 73 Km pipeline that goes from the PetroCan road over (behind Syncrude city) to tie in at CNRL Horizon.

I've seen a few Cobalts zipping in and around Ft. Mac, but only one SS SC yet, and it was Vic Red.

I definately don't take my Cobalt up there (its a summer toy) but if you see a Blue/Silver Chevy Caprice Classic, with Sask plates JRTA, flag me down! Yea, lots of fun...lol. I work in the Mine, Fine Trades electrical. I'm the contact person and Acting Tech for team 31. We are really short-handed and have double the work we normally have and it's anywhere from -30C to -60C with the wind. I got to work this morning and saw that the barrell counter was @ 0!! "TomKat" has got to be happy about all the break-ins lately...:cussing:

LOL Well the barrel counter is not going ANYWHERE soon until they get there s**t together in the plant site and out at Aurora. It is stupid. They are supposed to get 8-3 on the upward swing to startup tomorrow....but I HIGHLY doubt it is going to happen.

It's not gonna matter anyway...we have 7 shovels down between base and aurora, 15-20 trucks...DRC #9 is down for at least another week, and we are taking Train #1 down tomorrow for a 5 day outage...Not to mention that aurora went down flat again today...however....CHAOS=$$$$! LOL which = More mods for the cobalt and renegade...lol

I'm pretty sure your the one with the headlight mod, where did you pick them up and how do you like them? Been thinking bout getting them for a while now. On another topic, my tires came in on Friday...come on summer....lol.

I picked them up off of ebay. They are GREAT! There were some fogging issues in the beginning but I have a fix for that and it has worked great for other members on here. If you pick them up I can help you with putting them in and aiming them.

Yea, I can't wait either! lol. No, I'm not lowered, not sure if i'm gonna...I don't have very much clearance at all with these rims and tires...in the front anyway...

If you get the right springs, they will lower the back end of the car more then the front to give it an even look...instead of the raked look with the front end down more which is how GM sets up the car stock.

I know of a Silver s/c in abasand where I live, but it's owned by a 50+ lady who rarely drives the car.
There is a '05 black s/c in Gregoire, drivin by a female maybe 25-30, she's from the NWT, I run into her quite often in the car wash.
There is a '05 yellow s/c in Grayling, drivin by a man 50+, i used to see him going to Syncrude all the time last year.
My buddy's girlfriend has a white n/a with limoed windows, he always take her car to work.

Yea, i have seen a few NA SS' around. A couple orange ones, a white one (no tint), and another black one (i think its different).

The silver SS SC i see has chrome 1st gen halos on it as well. And one of the orange SS NA's has a vinyl of newfoundland on their back window.

Ugh, i went to walmart on saturday night to get a new 360 controller, and ended up getting rear ended by a 5000 lb new VW Touareg. THAT was a great way to finish the day. Luckily my old Caprice is made of real steel, and only some minor paint damage occured.

Well, you've been getting a lot of good compliments...lol. I have had everyone telling me in the last couple weeks that they like my new rims, and I have to keep telling everyone that my car is still in the garage...:lol: I even have to do a double take in the morning when I pass your car cause it looks so much like mine now.

Spotted a red Cobalt here in Fort Mac.......looks like a base model or something close to it. Had the "cobaltss.net" stickers in the rear 1/4 windows and a female driver. Anyone on here? :)

I work up in CNRL but I leave my Cobalt in Edmonton... Last weekend I decided to drive up to Fort Mac from Edmonton to visit my sister and I drove around all weekend and didn't see a single Cobalt until I was heading back to Edmonton just leaving Fort Mac by the Shell... it was a silver SS/SC... then 5 minutes later I got a speeding ticket (after all the warnings I got from friends to drive slow on that highway)... I think that will be my cars first and only trip to Fort Mac. I did see this douche-bag in a white jacked up Cherokee about a million times... that thing was louder then a god-damn airplane

Was just up there too, saw the white balt with the big white brow on the windshield. Was driving a big 5 ton RGO truck.

Yeah I have seen that white Cobalt as well. There is quite a few Cobalt's and G5's here.

Never knew this many people were on here I usually hang around G5club (Over 100 posts same username there) But nobody there really lives in Fort Mac, plus its all Cobalts in fort mac and no G5's (Its a good thing) =) So anyways message me back, or better yet lets have a meet, somebody organize one =)

Edit: Also I've decided to almost never wash my car anymore since it's covered in dust before I even finish drying it (got some nice scratches in hood now). Why did I come back to this town?

Speaking of the yellow balt...I was at AMA not too long ago and I saw that chick there, she just bought the car, was getting a license plate, insurance, etc. Her mom freaked when she was told the price of insurance, and she was telling her daughter it may have been a bad idea to buy the car...lol.

As with my car, I'm seriously considering going with a Hahn Turbo swap. I get my bonus over the winter and I finnished my garage so now I have a place to work on the car. I was looking at the Harrop supercharger but not really seen any major gains.
