i have a stock LS and a dashhawk. i have timed my 0-60 several times, and it always comes up around 8 to 8.5 seconds.

It's just like anything else, it varies from all types of factors but I think you're probably on the spot. I'm more of a 1/4 mile type of person than a 0-60 tycoon.

put the front of your car on jackstands i bet your 0-60 time will improve ALOT...

That should be about right. As for the Delorean, the ones that were released in the States had catalytic converters that dropped horsepower to 130 horsepower - LESS THAN us 2.2 boys have. Car and Driver said 0-60 times were at 10.5 seconds. Your 2.2 would blow its gullwing doors off!

the 2.4 is from either 6.8-7.2

so 8ish sounds right for you 2.2 guys

2.2L guys: dont listen to some of these ignorant people. the 2.2L ecotec is a good engine with good potential. back when i owned my 99 cavalier, us LN2 guys were constantly getting smoked by the L61 (2.2 eco) cavs and cobalts. everything is relative. no shit the 2.2 eco is not as quick as an SS or some other cars. but there is always a bigger fish, someone is always faster than the SS too.

Damn. whats up your ass? the OP asked a simple question about his car. no one ever said the 2.2 was a racecar. The 2.2 is still one of the quicker econo boxes out there and that is the truth. you invalidate nothing with your argument.

besides i'm proud of my little beast, and it being slow has nothing to do with the way it looks, and it still puts the women in the seats with looks of "nice car" ;)

between 2 and 3 days. jk, 8 seems respectable.

You know what, the Cobalt 2.2 isn't all that bad. Like with anything, the more you drive it the more you get used to it and how it performs.

My '07 Z06 will do 0-60 in about 3.7 and runs the 1/4 mile in about 11.7. Believe it or not, after driving it for a while you get used to how it performs.

I'm more of a conservative driver, but some of the other guys I know are adding blowers etc... to their Z06's. Problem with this car is that you can't get it off the line from a standstill. The rear tires will go up in smoke well through 2nd gear and will chirp them into 3rd, which at that point is well over 100MPH.

I actually really enjoy my Cobalt LT. It's a nice, comfortable, smooth driving car that gets me 34+MPG!

i forgot to mention that i have aftermarket 18" wheels, and an 80lb sub box in the trunk. so that is gonna affect my 0-60 big time. especially the wheels, all that unsprung weight.
when i take them off for the winter i will re-do my time and gives you guys an update.
