I got one too...the polished one. sounds awesome. i have noticed that guys with the full intake (K&N, Injen) have a louder blower whine to them. This is a good sleeper intake...will help to keep the dealer off your back about mods

Just watch the water with that dry flow. The water has tendency to seep through the filter and toast you're MAF. I know 2 other people beside me that have had this happen.

Yes the hydroshield works fine with it. I have one in red, though the color doesn't really matter since you can't see it. And it is more than loud enough for me. I have heard cars with the Ingen intake and their loud to the point of obnoxious.

I got one. Don't be freaked out when you get it cause there is only like 6 inches of piping...lol...Good for when you go to the dealer though cause you pop the hood and everything looks stock. Also, the SC whines like crazy as with any cold air intake. Also the install isn't bad and here's a little tip for you. Take off the driver headlight...makes it easier to access.

Oh, and also you don't have and CEL problems with this intake. Or at least I haven't.

No prob. It helps knowing service techs...lol. Hey, by any chance would anybody on here know how much boost gain if any you get just from adding an intake onto your car? When I first got the intake I didn't pay any attention to my boost gauge. Tonight I happened to glance over at it when I was pushin the car a little bit and the needle was at the line right before 15 psi. Mind you I do not have anything done to my car with the exception of the AEM intake. And to make sure it wasn't a fluke I pushed it several times after that and it was hitting the same mark consistently.

I don't know if that's true or not either. But when my car was running the stock intake it was reaching just over 10 or so. Now it's damn close to 15. 13.5 or maybe a little more. Hard to tell cause each line does not represent a pound. But it shocked me when I saw that. lol

You don't really gain any peak boost from an intake guys. Sorry to say it. It will help you build boost marginally faster. And on the SS/SC, you only going to gain ~3whp from an intake. You get it for the sound and possibly looks.

Because it always disappoints all the begining modders that they really don't get any performance out of it. Of course, an intake or airbox mod is a good supporting mod for when you run a smaller pulley, exhaust, and a tune.
