Well I have had my 06 2.4 SS for about a week and a half now and I have one concern. When I start car after several hours (overnight) it seems a bit loud. It sounds like the power steering pump is "whining" with some other strange noises thrown in. Has anyone else had this? I have had many different GM cars in the past and have grown use to their weird "typical GM noises". I am probably going to go to the dealer about it, but I just thought I would ask.

PS. Anyone notice a decrease in MPG (in addition to the shi*ty performance) with regular unleaded? Mine dropped about 2MPG vs. the 93 the dealer filled it up with.

Cobalt's don't have power steering, they have rack and pinion with electric assist. I would have that looked at by a professional.

Thanks..lol..I knew that but for some reason I continue to say "power steering", old habit. It must be something with the electric assist, I just went outside to move it and I didnt really let it warm up at all. It sounded like a moaning cat under the hood when I turned the wheel sitting still ..... I will be visiting the dealer in the morning.
