Someone Stole My ****!!

im pretty pissed off right now.. someone stole my 2 audiobahn subs i HAD in my trunk but the weird thing is, i dont know how they got in. no windows broken or anything... i havent driven my car since last night. today i went with the gf to clifton hill, canada to eat at the rainforest cafe and when i came home i saw that my glovebox was open and my passenger seat was in the upright position so that tells me that they came in through the passenger side..so i have a question for you guys that have the factory alarm.. when you arm the alarm, if you open the passenger door with a key, the alarm should go off right? i tried it with the drivers side door and trunk and the alarm went off both times.. but the passenger door did absolutely nothing. so if thats not how it should be working, what can i do? i can take it to the dealer and bitch but thats not going to get my subs back.. can i make a claim to my insurance? im just so pissed about this. i ****** work hard for my money and people just ****** take ****.

I don't think insurance will cover it. At least not car insurance. As far as I am aware of they can cover it, but you have to claim it as part of your car (or something like that) but if you didn't tell the insurance company about it I don't think they will cover it. But I could very well be wrong.

I was wondering if he had it ANYWHERE to have work done. If so I would go from there.

Likely how they did it. Pop the trunk, rip the subs out, drop the trunk. Run away.

I think I have the same alarm in my Sunfire because this was happening but with the driver door. As it turned out it wasn't wired up right from the factory. BUT I think they open it through the emergency latch.

OK god damn it, I just left my office walked down and back up 2 flights of stairs and made my cobalt scream. Yes the alarm did go off when I opened the door with the key on the passanger side door. Think that was the first time my alarm has gone off. I need to install my viper alarm in it cause I want shock sensors.

when i use the key to unlock the passanger door and open it the alarm goes off. the only time it didnt go off was if you push the locks down instead of useing you remote. i did that last night and unlocked the door this morning and my alarm didnt go off

scary thing is saying you get your work done at a dealership doesn't meant anything...

my dealership "lost my key" and had to cut a new key for me last time i was in i don't really feel comfortable with that...

i hope you get everything worked out...

When I had a rim stolen, I tried to do that (home owners deductable was $500, car $1000) and they said it'd have to come out of the car insurance.

The alarm does go off but if I'm mistaken I think its only on for a few minutes then it goes off.
