Question Do the OEM Continental Suck in General or Just With me?

I bought a Cobalt LS in February of this year and it came with 15" Continental Touring tires and they SUCK!!! And I thought the OEM Goodyear's on my 01' Blazer were bad, I've already had two flats with my Cobalt's Conti's and have to get them aired up on a monthly basis. When they're aired up it rides smooth as silk for a few weeks before it's back to being bumpy again.

Am I the only person having this issue or do these tires suck regardless? And what does GM do about the issue??

I have noticed this. I was backing into a parking place at school the other day, and the parking lot is on a little slope but nothing major, and my front wheels were spinning out like crazy. But then last winter, I could drive on ice up hills and not spin the least bit.

What brand would you recommend? My sisters Cavalier and my Blazer have Mastercraft and they seem to be quite a bit better than Continental and Goodyear tires.

Well I've found the culprit:

This has been the WORST week for my Cobalt! First, a **** in a white Monte Carlo opens her door and slams it into mine, and now this.

lmao...that's kind of a cool picture. That does suck ass though, man. I hate my Continentals. They have absolutely no traction. And it is completely ridiculous on wet streets. I slide like I'm driving on ice.

i ended up sliding into a curb b/c those things lost traction on a turn while it was raining, like the tires were turned sideways, yet the car kept goign straight, i ended up w/a bent rim, and thru the alignment off, the next day i went to discount tire and just got me a new set of rims and tires from them, those damn continentals sucks *****...

lol...sounds familiar. I slammed on my brakes because someone cut me off really close, and the tires didn't even have a breaking point... I just started sliding to no end; straight into the median. I ended up bending the **** out of my steelie.

All of the contis are rated really bad on tire rack.com. Ilm looking at getting some of the top of the line for all season though, the contiextremecontacts. They are rated #3 on tirerack.com.

the first night i had my car it was raining and i went to take off at a light and spun the tires for about 15 feet (with a cadet right next to me, lol), so yeah continentals are bad tires. Im almost looking forward to these wearing out, lol.

Me too! I was able to drive on sheer ice up and down hills last winter and my tires not spin, but I can't on wet pavement that is the least bit on a slope without them spinning like crazy.

DRIFT DRIFT DRIFT!
