Hey y'all.. what's crackin? I'm up here in Mentor, Ohio.. It's like 20 min east of Cleveland. And I go to school at OU.. Yeah.. all the stories are true about that school. lol :D hehe. .anyways.. My deal is this.. I've got a 96 cav.. aka the Sho' Cavy. lol But my dad doesn't like the idea of me driving it down to school, and he doesn't trust it and all that good stuff. So he's looking into replacing it. The 2 main/only contenders are the Cobalt SS and a Chevy Colorado... I'm kinda leaning towards the SS, but they're both great rides, and I wouldn't dare complain.

Anyways, I will probably have a Cobalt for summer vacation, assuming I get a 3.0 or higher. Mmmm. Coooooballlt.. Ahhhhh. I went to the Chevy dealership down the road and checked out the coupe and sedan Cobalt.. they were OK.. but I gotta do the SS.. no doubt. lol Anyways.. you guys are pimp as fuck.. Here in Cincinnati. hay I caught wind of an event at Mid America raceway and I thought I would pass it on to you all. Sometime in the sumer a group is going to rent the track for open racing. From what I hear it will be about $100 per car. I suspect it will be ran in heats of 10 cars with visual hand signal passing. It would be nice to get several SS on the track at the same time. Well when I get more details I will update everyone. P.S. If anyone is interested I could do the leg work to rent the Kentucky Speedway for the day. I thick its $5000 a day and that includes track workers and a meat wagon, just let me know.

Thank you for letting us know about it. Do you have a date? If its early on, we might not have a lot of SS’s show up. But yea, I would love to come! Maybe bring my WS6 :D

Ohio guys saw the thread late. I'm in Y-town 20 minutes southeast of Lordstown. I have a 04 Cav Sedan LS with Cobalt SS Ebony Blue Seats in it. I'll try to post picts soon, I may need a little help posting them. It was tricky retro fitting Coupe Cobalt seats to the J-car sedan. So you can figure by now where I work and what I do. We're shipping the first of the SS/SC Tuner seats this week to be non-salable cars I'll update soon. :)

As for dates at the ohio track I will have to let you know when I get the info. As for dates at KY speedway it would be up to us to set. I've been on KY speedway at 140 + and it is an great track, smooth and well banked. Dates for events at the speedway this year is May 14, June 17&18, July 8&9, August 13&14, and September 10. If we wanted to do this I can check into everything and contact my friends and get their Viper and Corvette clubs to join us.

Columbus here.. We just got some Cobalt coupes at the dealership yesterday. Im going to check it out after work today... I wish it was a SS.. Oh well. Oh, im a newb!! :)

I live in Cortland, OH and thats about 20 minutes or so from the Lordstown Plant that bulids the Cobalt and Pursuit (Canada). I cannot wait to see the coupes starting to arrive at local dealerships.

We've got a couple LS Coupes here in Wooster , with the sport package. I went down and checked out the red one, it was pretty sweet. Smaller than I expected but the the inside was real nice. Can't wait to see what my all black SS will look like!! The name of the dealership is Red Ferris Chevrolet its about 30 minutes from Canton.

I am from Cincinnati, wanted to buy a 05 SS but my car gave out before i could get one without pay over sticker for it, ended up with an SRT4. So when we start seeing some of these cars in ohio i would like to gather up an event and go out to Tri-State or Edgewood Strips down in Cincy and do a "real" SRT4 VS SS run at the 1/4, cuz we all know Motor Trend messed that article up.

That's my redSS at Marhoffer's. Can't believe its still there - it doesn't show up in the dealer search since I ordered it. I drove by the other day in my black SS to check it out. One of you guys that are waiting should snap it up. Its got XM, sunroof, and side airbags. Had they been able to do the Recaro's and lsd, it would be in my garage :cool:

Hey, I see there are a couple guys/girls from the Stow area, add another! Well, I am not officially the driver of an SS yet but will be by 1:00 tomorrow, Thursday, June 23! We (my fiance and I) actually were looking for a better gas mileage vehicle over our two SUV's so we trader her Saturn Vue in on the SS at Serpentini in Aurora. My Grand Cherokee will be saving miles since it is an 04 and I already have 31K on it. Maybe I will run into you guys around town! Oh, it will be red... and if you see my blue Freedom edition Grand Cherokee, honk!

Just bought my black G85 SS from Serpentini. Will be nice to see some more SS's running around the Stow area. There's another guy with a blue one in Stow. Now we just need yellow!

I do not like yellow cars but the yellow SS really caught my eye at Serpentini. If my fiance was not so against yellow, I may have purchased the one on the showroom floor. I didn't get the performance package on mine though, it was tough enough getting one equipped the way we wanted w/o ordering and you have to take posession before July 5th in order to get the GM discount. There was no way that would have happened if we ordered one!!!! I just got the red (for cleaning purposes) w/ sunroof and XM radio and Ebony interior. I didn't care for the inserts as much as the all black....

I too am mostly around the Columbus area as of late, because I am on Co-op leave from school and am going to be working for the next 6 months (big plans for the car in that time) and I have seen alot of base-LS models putzin around but I have yet to see an SS around here. There is a black SS over in Marysville at some apt complex right off the highway. And I have even seen a blue Redline around Grove City as well. Maybe im just not looking hard enough. haha.....

I'm in westlake area too. The only other SS's I've seen are red ones. I know there's someone locally with a red ss and I've also seen a red one in the Rocky River area too. I didn't see a stewie hanging from the mirror tho.

Whats up? Just found this post so I figured i'd add. My names Nick. I'm from Grafton small town in Lorain County about 30-45min west of Cleveland. I have a Black with Red inserts 06 SS/SC. I've only seen a couple SS/SC around here. Anyone live close or in surrounding areas? Looking for someone local to help with a pulley swap sometime or help with Intense Stage 3 when I my get tax return. Also I work at Ohio Welded Blank. Its a steel stamping/blanking plant and we also do laser welding. But figured i'd share that we make the inner door skins and bodysides for the Cobalts. One part of why I bought the Cobalt, I help make it and I get supplier discount. Glad to see there's a lot of Ohio Cobalt owner. If there's someone local and want to hookup for a meet or something let me know.

I got my black ss/sc with red insets in Columbus at Bobby Layman. My wife wanted me to get the LS with ground effects and hood scoops they had there because it was auto but I wanted the ss/sc. I am new to the forums. I just picked up my 2006 Cobalt SS/SC tonight from the dealer, this car is awesome. It is Ultra Silver Metallic with all black interior. I am located in Hubbard, Ohio. Looking for some mod ideas, so let me know. The first mod that will probably be done is a K&N Cold Air Intake. Any ideas, lets hear them.

Kind of close to all that...I live in Centerville and so Hamilton and everything is just down the road...you don't have your windows tinted and brake calipers painted red, do ya?

not yet... i will tint th windows soon and amgoing to paint the calipers blue.. also geting led under, and vert doors. i was going to get the stage 2 but for me,it is fast enough, but will get cai as soon as i can find out how to without cel's:nono:

That ride looks amazing Listerman! I would just get rid of those mud flaps....they take away from the car IMO

I just got my 06 Silver SS/SC about months ago. I originate from Jamestown, currently live in Franklin, and work in Dayton. Most of my commute is I-75, so if you see me feel free to let it whine :)

My car is currently getting the clutch looked at.....7000 miles and it slips and is having shifting issues. I'm pretty easy on it since it's a daily driver....My Z-28 however ran a 12.89 @112 this year, which I'm pretty happy with. It ran a 14.75 stock when I bought it! Some of you may have seen me at kil-kare with it. It's a pretty rough looking 94. I might get it painted someday, but for now it's a beater race car, I'm not done with it yet. I'm pretty sure I won't modify or race my cobalt until the warranty is up, who knows. If they won't cover my clutch for me I might as well. So until I get that back I'll be cruisin in style with base model trim (no power anything, even the motor LOL) with 4 doors on steelies. I guess I understand why they can't turn us loose in nicer rentals, but the LOWEST of the Cobalts? Sheesh....

I-75 and route 4 this morning....That was all me. My 06 SS/SC was basically ran over by a tractor trailer. Anyone see it?

I heard about it on the radio and avoided it. R u okay? I assume from ur description the balt is probably a total loss. Well, I hope since ur posting your healthy! Good luck getting this resolved.

I'm doing okay. My car isn't so good but I'm not sure if it will be a total loss. The rear bumper is pushed in pretty bad, the rear passenger quarter panel is crunched towards the trunk and wrinkled up by the door. The rear passenger wheel somehow got turned left (like your turning the front wheels) almost 45 or so degrees so at least one 18 incher and rubber is messed up. With the wheel turned like that I would imagine there is a lot of suspension damage. My co-worker was driving a 99 or so 4 door malibu. That car is a total loss, he took the hit first, got pushed completely clear and then the semi hit me. No one was hurt but I fear that my car will NEVER be the same if they fix it.

Red SS/SC hailing from Bay Village Ohio (West Side of Cleveland). 18 months with my SS/SC and loving it.

Like to give a shout our to two others in the area. There is a blue SS/SC with dual exhaust in North Olmsted and a copper SS/SC with a ColbaltSS.net decal that I see downtown parked around the Fed occasionally. Either of you see a Red SS give me a wave.

What's up fellas .. I just picked up a black '07 LS Coupe tonight. It's a fun little car so far, but I have less than 20 miles on it so I can't say much yet. I'm not going to go crazy with mods, but plan to get a catback and lower it a bit. I'm also hoping the stock brakes start to grab a lil better after they're broken in, or else they'll get replaced.

New Cobalt SS 2.4 Owner - Work in Middleburg Heights and live in Vermilion. Picking mine up tomorrow morning.

A bit about me, active-duty Marine, do public affairs for the Marine recruiters. Originally from Birmingham, Ala., and I'm trading up (thank God!) from an 01 V6 Cougar (rest its soul..).

I'm looking around here a bit - is there any way to set up custom groups, like maybe a Cobalt group that's just people from Ohio? Just an idea - but that's how the Cougar boards were set up, which was really handy if you needed something in a hurry!

Look forward to talking to all of you, and learning about this car from my experience and yours. I've gotta tell you I'm already infactuated with it - it's everything my old Cougar should've been...

Very cool - Yeah, I like Vermilion. It's a good mix for my fiancee and I. She's a newspaper reporter in Vermilion and I work in Middleburg Heights (Strongsville), so it's a nice half way. Plus the town is nice, so I enjoy it.

I got mine from Serpentini in Strongsville - the dealer here only had one color, the burnt orange, and it wasn't really my style.

My 24 is a Silver MTx Coupe, Ebony cloth with grey inserts, sunroof, and then the pretty loaded standards - the 7 speaker stereo, 17 inch polished wheels with pirrellis, foglamps, etc. That's one of the things that really impressed me about this car - how much it came with, and I have to say it has one of the BEST factory stereo setups of any car I've looked at.

So far as mods, I know one thing I want to do first is clean and pretty up that engine bay. I'm not sure what made them decided completely crazy with plastic but that stuff needs to go. Down the road - I'd like to look into a turbo charger, possibly some graphics (Maybe black or blue racing stripes, perhaps Euro style), and I'll just have to see.

Right now I'm just so damn satisfied with the car I have no desire to do anyting to over the top. I'd have to say the "initial buyer satisfaction" rating is right up there - and I'm really glad I did some research this time around, because buying that damned Cougar was the worst mistake ever.. I knew I was screwed in 2002 when they stopped production.
