Preventing Cat Paw Tracks on my Cobalt SS
My granddaughter's cats started jumping up on the rear quarter / wing of my 2007 Cobalt. They would then walk up the rear glass and circle on the roof, then slide down the front glass, and walk across the hood before jumping off. If the car was wet with dew, the cat paw tracks made a muddy mess, if the car was dry, the paw prints still made a mess on a clean car or in light dust.
The CURE - Moth *****! Simply put one moth ball into a clean dry plastic bottle cap and place the bottle cap on the rear bumper near the cat's normal approach. Apparently the cats sniff the car before jumping on and they do not like moth ***** which have been used for years by home owners to keep cats out of flower gardens and other places around the home.
The plastic bottle cap will keep the moth ball from damaging the finish of the car. If you forget to remove the bottle cap and moth ball before driving off, its easily replaced. More than one moth ball and bottle cap may be required in difficult cases but its unlikely more than one per corner of the car will be necessary. Your mileage may vary!

Nice! My nieghbors cat keeps jumping up on my car. I put some duct tape (2"x2") sticky side up on my hood one day. The cat was walking around with 3 pieces of tape on his feet going nuts! That'll teach the little bastard! +rep for you!

HAHAHAHAHAHHA!! You should give it like a whole gallon of PEANUT BUTTER!!!!
my fiances cat always walks around on my car she likes the warm hood, my solution, camp it out and wait for it to jump on, once it does either press lock tice or press the panic button on your keys, i had to do it twice for the thing to get the point but it hasnt jumped up since
Thats a great idea, if my neighbors cats become a probelem for me ill try it. When i had my sunbrid they would climb up the hood and get half way and then start to slide, and then they would stick their claws out to try to get some grip, end result... scratches all over my hood.
My first thought was to get a pellet gun but if you miss and hit your car your doing just as much damage as the cat.
