it doesnt take much talent to go from a roll, just know when to shift, it appears that having passengers in the car has more of an effect then perviously thought...and i see u both have intakes, did anyone have cels during the race?

and that focus is pretty slow, i see it got the jump going form a roll then quickly fell behind lol

 

I've got the infamous lean code, and the PCM internal malfunction one. Not sure if either/or would put the car in limp mode...it didn't "feel" any different.

edit: I think SCHWV had a lean code too?

 

Eh, I don't think it was a driving issue...hell I was powershifting and still got walked, never missed a gear, never hit the rev limiter, feathered the clutch on the dig race didn't spin or bog @ all and he still walked me lol.

 

maybe your SS is just slow like you said

 

i did have the lean code for about 30 min, but then it went off. sorry, not sure what i did, but never have had it again. so no CEL for me.

 

well there are dynos of cobalt ss' putting down anywhere from 195 whp to almost 220 whp stock.

 

i dynoed at 219 stock

 

in 3rd or 4th gear?

Another Cool vid by Tofu. And yeah, the passenger decided the race for you dude.
These cars are very sensitive to added weight.

 

Tofu your extra passenger + the extra 3/4 tank adds roughly 200 or 250 lbs, that's near 0,5 second loss and 3 MPH loss on a quarter mile (as an example). Don't think your Cobalt is slower ...

 

I can actually attest to that myself, I had my whole family (Dad, Mom, Sister, Wife) on a trip with me and had a 1st Gen Tiburon riding my butt, tried to lose him in fourth at about 3500 rpm but couldnt do the job. Different story though I'm sure if I didn't have all the extra weight. (Me 220, Dad 210, Mom 145, Wife 125, and Sister 44lbs)

its awesome that there is another cobalt near me keeping up in the mods, makes it a lot more fun. i told you it wasnt your car, it was the weight, but we still gotta look at that boost Tofu. i wanna try and run with everything the same, no passenger and equal gas because i dont want to take all the credit for being "a freak" i know we will have more runs on video so just be patient guys. we all know how yall love the cobalt videos. alright guys i am trashed, gotta go

 

The truth came out in the credits, that focus is an SVT....lol. Through the video I was like dang, that focus is rippin it up, do the bolt on's consist of a blower...lol. But it at the end in the fine print everything came together.

 

Haha, well the SVT didnt do THAT bad. Stick a blower on it then let's see how it does
