The hole from the frame is already there, so if you don't find an exact answer then install the frame bolt and traction bar and mark the control arm where you need to drill the hole.

you're supposed to adjust them AFTER you install them. once installed, they should be hand tight, + up to one full turn additional. Very easy install, and I love them. GL!

well heres the thing, i didnt buy the bwoody or c/a traction bars. im actually making a set of my own the will work just fine. i was just trying to get a general idea of how long to make the bar. i measure about 13.5" from where you have to drill the hole in the lower control arm to the hole in the frame. i guess its time to just play around then.

lol i like that. but that still doesnt solve my problems. i already searched the whole site, seen that and other things. reminder these are custom not bwoody. trying to just get an estimate but i guess i just need to play around with the bars myself and figure it out.
thanks though.

Well if you make your own, make sure they are adjustable; otherwise you will either make them too lose (will not hardly help at all if any) or too tight (you won't be able to install them!) you have to be able to put them on and then tighten once bolted up. GL with the project, let us know how it goes.

try putting some lithium grease on the joint that pivots. you shoulld see the ball that rotates. put it on that and that should fix it.

ok guys im looking at the installation instructions. got me confused a little. theres two bolts that show how the spacer and the washers should go. somebody correct me if im wrong but on the lower control arm side it's supposed to go bolt, aluminum spacer, traction bar, 2 lock washers, lower control arm, flat washer and then lock nut. on the frame side it goes, bolt, traction bar, aluminum spacer, 2 lock washers, frame rail, flat washer and then lock nut. From the installation pics where they show the way the bolts are supposed to look, the bolts for both the lower control arm and frame are the same. But if you look at the pic with it installed, it looks like the spacer is on the bottom of the traction bar on the lower control arm side. Any input????

distance I am not sure of without going to the driveway to measure...if you need me to let me know, I'll go do it.

as far as how they sit

control arm side (starting at bottom say driveway side) bolt, bar, tapered spacer, 2 lock washers, flat washer, c-arm, flat washer, then nut

frame side (again starting at bottom say driveway side) bolt, bar, tapered spacer, 2 locker washers, rubber bushing, frame, spacer, flat washer, nut.

I know you setting up a custom set but thats the way I have the bwoodys attached on mine.

as far as creaking, definitely using some white lithium grease around the ball end of the rod, and around the spacers where it touches the frame and/or control arm definitely helps.

when they creak or pop, either need some tightening up back to the frame or c-arm, or grease them up

The bars SHOULD NOT repeat SHOULD NOT be touching the CA - if they are, you are doing something wrong with the bolts/spacers/washers! That is part of their intention; to keep the bars from rubbing them.

aight thanks man. that helps out but i figured the length out and everything so its all good. depending on how these things hold up, im going to write a how to up. i hope they work awesome cause my tab is only up to like 80 and i think i have everything i need besides a die which my dad is getting from his work today to borrow. your the first i heard talk about a rubber bushing and the 2nd spacer. i have yet to hear about those on the traction bars did you add these to help??

no these came with my set. The only thing that I can of it helping with is the noise but thats about it. no noise on mine right now. I do think they need to be tightened back up to the frame but thats it.

yea I'm in greenville, but only for about another week or two, then I'm in charlotte. In the process of a move. As far as shady side, not far at all only about 45 min. I'd give it a try to meet up, but probably not since I'm heading to Rockingham to run the 1/4 on sat.

You really should try to meet up. I know you said you probably won't join but thats all right. We don't ask for you to meet up all the time. Just come out when you can. Your more than welcome to bring your girl as well. MOst of the others there girls join along and do there own thing. We do welcome all to come and have a good time. Just a bunch of friends getting together usually.
