id recomend getting a 40 profile, cause on my cobalt the 45's rubbed, but i also had it lowered 3"

On stock wheels you should be fine. Some guys are running 245s without major problems.
On custom wheels, it depends on the offset. Around 40mm you should be ok.

Yea i have stock 17" rims

you'll be fine. a few members are running that size. Plus its still a little shorter then the stock tires. 225/50/17 would give you a lil more sidewall for a softer ride and better launches at the track, if you go that is.

225/45/17 is the closest fit to a 205/55/16 tire size and with that size there is tons of room left over for a sportline drop
