Upgrades?

Hi, I have a 06 Cobalt ss/sc. I am looking to do some upgrades to it. Looking to get around 260whp to stay more on the safe side til I get the money for new internals. What do you suggest I do. Saving money is always a plus but no cutting corners. So supporting mods should be factored in as well please. I.E. cooling, clutch, ect... Thanks for the help

at 260 you should be ok with stock cooling and definately fine with stock clutch.

since you said internals, obviously warranty is no big deal. so go aftermarket instead of GM.

I would suggest 2.8 pully, 60lb injectors, stage 2 belt, Header, Catless DP, Catback + tune.

someone is gunna hammer you and say "use the search button"

but on to ur question. it all depends what u want to do first. u can start with basic bolts on, or you can start with the internals. its really a preference thing since u say u plan on doing both...

for 260WHP id say full catback with header and downpipe, stage 2 with 2.9 or 2.85 pulley, CAI, then maybe ingalls TD. cobalt-addiction.com is a great place to get stuff, ive ordered alot from there, crateenginedepot.com is good to i HEAR, never used them. dont go the dealership for the catback or stage 2 though

some other guy on here is trying a much different approach and doing all supporting mods

first like methanol injection and heat exchanger then when he gets enough money he will be

able to have all his main hp boosting items on and w/ all the supporting mods he will be able

to do a really aggressive tune but really if you want to get hp out of these cars the pulley size

is where its at

260 id say youd be right around there with a stage 2 with 2.9 or 2.85 pulley, CAI, Full exhaust, and a good tune

well he mentioned that he intends to do internals.
