is $21,800 a good price...

for a fully loaded 2006 cobalt ss 2.4 automatic with xm ? and also is $1,500 a good price for the dealer to put on the ss/sc wing and ground effects? this is what ive been qouted and im wondering if i need to get them lower or if this is an already low price? and will i get the $1000 applied to the full price so my loan will be cheaper or does that have to come afterwards?thanks.

what % rate are you getting? i got 5%

if i were you i'd save alittle more for a downpayment and get the ss/sc.

to each their own though.

That's the normal MSRP for a loaded 2.4..you didn't get a deal..just offered regular price. I would just pay the same price and buy a "base" 2.0..comes with leather, pioneer stereo, 18" rims, body kit and wing. Don't be a poser 2.0

Listen to phxSS, with that price you're only a few bucks off the real thing so just get the real thing and you can have your wing

I"m with everyone else, the only way a $21,800 is a deal is if you're driving off in a 2.0 for that price, that's way too much for a 2.4 not to mention you'll be at $23,300 after the wing and ground effects and for that price you can damn near get a pretty well equipped SS/SC...at the very least you're not getting a good deal but at that price I'd almost go so far as to say you're getting ripped off.

Wait a minute, you want the automatic, don't you??? Is that it? Goddamn it! Don't be a douche!

I would take my damn baseline with my 5-speed over a loaded SS/SC frankensteined to an auto! Jesus Christ! I'll teach you how to drive a stick in my car, any of us would! It's not that hard to get the hang of a manual and once you do, you never go back! NEVER!

C'mon brother, just get someone to teach you the ropes and get the REAL DEAL!*

*If you can drive a stick and just think you have a good deal, refer to my first statement

To know if you got a good deal or not you need to find out what invoice is. It's usually at least a thousand less than MSRP. If you can't get the dealer to meet you at least in the middle, or compensate you with a better loan or options, you didn't get a good deal. Yahoo autos says the MSRP of the 2.4L is 18,200. Invoice is 17,000. Add in your transmission upgrade and XM radio, and MSRP is about 19,500. Basically don't settle for anything more than high $18's. Or maybe you could talk them into giving you the SS/SC trim for free if you pay full price, since there is probably a lot of markup in that.

LOL, I gotta say I agree with this. If the only reason you want the 2.4 is because it's auto just suck it up. Don't be afraid of learning a stick, hell I had never touched a car with a manual until AFTER I bought my SS/SC. The dealer taught me in the parking lot, took me for a quick spin to make sure I had the basics, and sent me home in my new car.

Will you stall it? Yes. Will you be perfect right away? No. Is it worth it? Hells yeah. Like djpatrick said, once you drive a manual you won't go back. It's a blast to drive!!!!!

I hadn't driven a stick in a long, long time when I got my car, but I knew I wanted the manual, so I went to a Kmart parking lot and retaught myself and I've never looked back... Listen to alleycat and I, you want the SS/SC!

i can drive stick really well but since my wife has to co sign for the car she wont do it unless its an automatic but she can drive stick too and hates it, so one of the main reasons i picked this car is due to the torque it has and will have when i turbo it since an auto works better with the more torque it has, so sorry i cant get a stick but, seriously if he wants that price you think they have room to take it all the way down to the high 18"s i never knew they were marked up that bad...

Cool

I paid 19,800 for a fully loaded 2006 ss/sc victory red. Call around. After I played a couple dealerships against one another, I finally found one that would come in aat the price I wanted. Can't beat the deal I got!

Stop compromising and go finnagle! If you haven't been to 2 or more dealers, you aren't going to get a good price. If you don't want to negotiate the price, go to the saturn forums .

no the car is NOT marked up that bad. MY SS/SC only had $1,040 in markup. a 2.4 has less. you're cars msrp is probably around 22,000. it has an $850 auto, $800+ leather, 325 xm, probably 295 pioneer and 150 mp3 radio and all this other stuff.

A 2.4L SS should not be marked up at all. I got mine for under sticker
