Custom Exhaust Question.
I will keep this short... I promise!
Just finished a custom cat back exhaust. I ended up cutting off the stock flange that has the two bolts that holds the downpipe and the rest of the piping together. I went with a 2.5" flange with three bolts. Needless to say I went 2.5" mandrel the rest of the way. However, I did not use a resonator. But don't worry, just ordered one since you cannot think while driving without it. I also used a magnaflow 2.5" high flow muffler.
So here is my question....
Has anyone else done this and noticed a slight torque reduction past 4,000rpm? My wife and one of my employees say it's fine. That it is all in my head. I think it might be. But not sure?
Anyone with feedback would be cool. I really don't like to spend $700-$800 for an exhaust system that has flaws. I only spent about $225 for the whole thing. Just took 12 hours of my time! lol.
And for those of you that have done this, you know what kind of flaws I talk about!
PS I will end up taking pictures when I weld on the resonator!

Just a quick update....
Installed the 2.5" Magnaflow resonator, and noticed the lag gone on the upper RPM range. However, I feel a huge lag on lower RPM's until about 4k RPM. Is this normal? Maybe air intake will fix it?
