Talking Zo6 fender stripes done w/pics...

well i started another thread a week ago about wether to do black stripes or CF ones, and i ended up dion black, as of now i only go the base coat done, thats enoughf or now, i'll go back w/the high gloss paint later...well i taped everything up, measured itl ike 3 times to make sure it was aligned, than i started sanding the stripes...idk what grit i used, but i know i used one that left it smooth as my gf's ass...lol...well here's some pics

well thats it, i'll probably go back and go over it some more later in the week when i have more time...for now im done...what do ya'll think?

Cuz i suck at layin vinyl down, i always **** it up one way or another, so i tend to avoid it when possible, also the reason why i decided not to go and use CF vinyl for the stripes...

and fyi, you dont use really fine grit paper to paint, including if you didnt prime, the paint has to stick to something so it uses the edge you put on the paint should of use like 320 or maybe alittle higher.

well i didnt really use sand paper, i used a sponge looking thing thats used for sanding, i just dont know what to call it, but it sanded it smooth with a little buit of edges, like it a stripsh manner, like, hmm, like i know u need somethign for the paint to grap, cuz if it dont, than its just sitting ontop of it and can be peeled off...i know how, i just dont know what to call it, sorry...

wow i could have never grown the ***** to spray paint on my nearly new car, honestly i have to say im not feeling it, i think taking it all the way down to the wheel well would have been alot better

btw those sponge things are just sandpaper on a squishy sanding block

its called proper adheasion, i doubt he could have sanded it that smooth to make the paint not stick though, he would have had to get into the 1000+ grit for that to happen, and that dosnt come in the spongy things he is speaking of

btw i do have ppg autobody training, so im not pulling this out of my ass

the black dot on my hood it from the sun, the sun was reflecting on that part, so my phone made a black dot due to all the light, and i like the stripes, thats why i did them, but yeah i dont know alot about painting, and im not saying i do, alli know is what i learned in 4 yrs of art class, lol...but i will consider making the stripes come all the way down, i'll have to wait though, cuz i dont have time right now, and i know i need to lower the car, im waiting to either sell or trade my deck for some sprngs to lower it...

I think it looks kinda cool. The color combo works, which is nice, and they look good on there. Good job!

On a side note, the stripes originated on the GS not the Z

^^^As they said, it's NOT Z06 Stripes. They're Grand Sport stripes. A very rare and very limited, coveted Covette. I hate it when people try and rip off that look.

I think you might be right. I had heard they were bringin em back for a "special edition" again, and that one would make sense.

I could also be wrong, but I don't think any C4 gen. Vettes raced hardcore, much less win Le Mans....the C5-R's took that title...also there was the typical yellow C5-R that sported a black fender stripe in honor of Dale Earnhardt (sp) The Ron Fellows Z06 I've heard has a maple leaf hidden in the stripe
