definately sounds like the beginnings of a stage 3 kit...especially with the pulley they use that is smaller than the stage 2 pulley...just might be quiet an expensive kit...lol...its a thought though...i wonder how much those pistons can really take though. i know of alot of non forged pistoned engines making plenty over 300 hp...just curious

I'm def thinking about doing this all. Not yet. Maybe after I get the whole IHE and stage kits. Looks like a fun winter project. Maybe next winter. Probably cost quite a bit as well.

For our mechanics out there.....
.....please give me your opinion about doing the300+hp build. If upgrading the head on the 2.0 with the one listed in that bdwarr6's excel sheet says would the head already have the upgraded valve componets as described in the 300+hp build, seeing as it is an upgrade over what we have. The build says that our heads are good to 320hp and my plan is a bit higher still.
Also, in part 2 of the 300+ build it talks about the balancing shafts. It says that we lose 10hp spinning the stock ones and balance tubes cost some comfort. Can you explain the effect on the engine as well as the ride.
Your help is really appreciated.
Thank you,

*EDIT*
thanks WOT for the pm asnswering this question. I an adding it for others in case they are interested too.
Vic I'm not sure which head you are speaking about for sure, but the CNC ported head from the build book WILL WORK on the LSJ using different cams, but it might be better to just upgrade the LSJ head as it's actually the head recommended in the build book for the 1000-1400HP engines. The only weakness in the stock LSJ head is the valve springs, so if you upgraded them at least you should be good to 8000 rpm. It can be CNC ported as well, and would then be cheaper in the long run.
The balance shafs reduce tortional vibrations at lower engine speeds. So if you install the neutral shafts, the idle tends to be a bit rougher, with a bit more engine shake (not a big deal for a race car of course- but MAY be ibjectionable to some)
