But the airbag is not in the pillar itself, you dont have anything to worry about, just take the pillar off.

Then use simple logic.
Did GM decide to create a missle at face level that is going to fly into your head when the airbags deploy, especially with a gauge on the SC models?
GM didn't change the airbag systems. They are the same.

I've had my side curtain come down already, they are not in the pillar.

Besides, don't you think we would know by now. I mean how many people have used pillar gauge pods by now.

I know first hand that the airbag is not in the piller. I saw a crash right in front of me where a cobalt got hit on the side and the air-bag came from side. NOT the piller.

Directly above your ears on the roof where the window and the slot the window meets the top of the door.

Yes. As stated above, they are NOT in the pillars; the caps are for show. They come out of the headliners. End of story.

wow why are people arguing about this.. its a side curtin.. not a cruise missle to your face curtin.. its not in the apiller... gm may have some weird setup on something but deff not that... when u take the pillar off youll see a green tube... thats the tube that goes to the air bag... just dont **** with that an ull be fine (you can touch it just dont pull it lol).. the SIDE curtin is on the SIDE of your head above your door... end of argument...

And even if you would engage it, it doesn't use powder like the front airbags. It just fills with air.
