i just had my stage 2 installed. my boost is only hittin 13-14 pds, my gas mileage is like 15 mpg when not even giving it gas, 1 and 2 seem slower, and it screams and swollows fuel when its barely moving. is this due to the gm stage 2 tune or something else. only upgrade i have is the stage 2 kit and airbox mod.

the dealership i bought it from installed it, only 200 bucks, and i was there watching the whole time. i have a really good relationship with them and they are an awesome service department. they never ask any questions or hassle me about warranty issues, when i need something fixed they just do it and usually let me help.

I had the same problem. Does it bogg really hard in 2nd or 3rd. If so it is the fuel curves and it is running REALLY rich. I had to pay for a dyno tune because they reflashed it 2 times and it didn't fix the problem.
the car is an 06 and even before the stage 2 all i have ever put in it was 92 or 93 when i can fid it. if its running rich which is what ive heard from several people about the gm stage 2 tune, would puttin the 2.8 from cobalt addiction on it help any. if i floor it i get like 8 to 9 miles to a gallon its just horrible. and for custom tuning the only place i know of in my area everyone keeps warning me that theyll mess my engine up because they run their tunes really lean.
well, the way it sounds is that they installed everything and didn't flash your ECM correctly for the tune of the injectors. This would cause your car to run richer on the bigger injectors and cause a lack of power making you slower and more of a fuel hog. I'd go back to them and resolve it by getting your ECM reflashed. I've heard of many people with the same problem.
it could be ur reflash..but jsut to make sure see if any of the injectors r damaged from the install, aor maybe the rings r a little damages causing inaccuate amount of fuel to be added
It seems to me that the didn't flash your ECM right. Can you rev to 7k rpm or does it bounce at 6.5k still? I'm guessing even if part of the reflash took, the part that adjust the ECM to control the 42# injectors didn't.
yes i can rev to 7k now and im using a fram filter. i was driving to ft knox earlier and raced another cobalt ss sc and my car shuttered a bit towards top end. stop filled up with gas an now im gettin 27 to 32 mpg. and if i get on it its showing 18-23 mpg. weird?
Go back to the stock AirBox. A fram filter should not be used on a intake. Or go grab a K&N drop in or something. I have the Injen & love it. I would take it back to the dealer and explain whats going on also. They normally give a hard time about a smaller pulley and I would not run a 2.79 without 60 lbs injectors. Go with one of Nate's Custom made pullies. A 2.9 is pefect for the GM stage II tune.
