Winter time is just around the corner, just lookin for some recommendations and suggestions on what winter tired ppl r runnin and where to get them...
I live near the and border and I know it is definitely cheaper to get the tires in the US.

It's worth doing a SEARCH for this one ... this is a common topic.

Regardless, I run Dunlop Wintersport M3s on Sport Edition F6 16" wheels (painted alloys) from tirerack.com, and they're fantastic.

they didn't list steelies for the G5 GT, that's stupid.

I bought a set of new take-off HHR 16" wheels for $102.50 shipped for the set of four...not each rim.... I also put on a set of Michelin X-ice tires in 205/60/16. All of that only cost me a smidge over $500 new and on the car.

And they look a somethin' like a this on my SS/SC:

it's mounted on the wheels but the wheels aren't mounted on the car yet, you can see the summer tires and rims on the pic.

I didn't even notice that they were directionnal tires before you mentionned it

so that tire should go on the right side of the car right?

how about tire rotation then you can't do side to side only front to back?

yea, i'm extremely impressed. quick response to questions as well. companies should strive to have this level of service.

i'll post a pic later. the tires on the 16" steelies are a little bigger than the stock 18"s with sumitomos. some big ass tread.

i like that they're rated superior for snow traction, voted 2nd best in the category, and 93% of people that have used them said they would definitely buy them again. and they were only 85/each. can't beat it. they're big too. i probably won't have them on for a good month at least, hopefully, but i kinda want to see them on the car

sure looks good, but doesn't look like a normal winter tire should

but it was ranked #2, close second to my pick on tirerack.com so it should perform well too!
