Hey Guys and Girls, Juan here looking to set up the next state cobalt meet. The Baton Rouge cruise was a bust so myself and 3 other guys, SS/SCS10, Yellowbubblebee, and cav101 all went hung out at the lake front Sunday the 14th. While eating lunch we were all talking about trying to get everyone out for one giant meet and were wondering how we could do this... obviouly we need a lot of preplanning since the other 2 meets that were preplanned fell apart. Sundays seem to be the best for everyone for the most part. So we will shoot for a day enough in advance so people can take off of work.

We all came up with the idea of a meet/BBQ. I will personally drive a long way for food. I dont know about everyone else so i am leaving it up to you all to decide on a good date.

Yes i know location is also a hassle however i am sure people are willing to drive to the most central location be it Baton Rouge or New Orleans. (Although i know BR pretty well i dont know of to many open parks were we could BBQ like they have down here in New Orleans). And I might as well mention if anyone wants the headache of hosting it at your place... thanks in advance and god bless.

I dont know if you all knew but you can vote on more than one option too if 2 or more days will work for you. We want to see the best day possible for everyone. Also the poll is 14 days long so it will give you time to look at your schedules

I am off of work every Saturday & Sunday. My best friends going away party is Nov 4, so I am against that day (gotta be in Alabama.) Kev is home on Nov 11, Dec 2 & Dec 9 (he would love to meet yall.) I guess I am good for any of the days other that Nov 4. I voted for November 11!

Not yet though right now the 11th and 18th are winning there are a few people that voted that are not even close to LA. I am pretty much open to anyday myself all i have to do is request off though the sooner it is the less cold it would be so outdoors would still be viable. I will give other people some time to vote and hopefully by this weekend we will have a clearer winner on a date and then comes the fun part on where to have it.

 

lol... just do another vote on where to have it... where are most people from and where would a centeral location be. lakefront is easy and alot of people know it, willing to go to baton rouge too, dont know it too well, but can find it with some directions. of course even with the food and beer its still a total of only 4-5 people... not alot of a big turnout like i was hopin

 

that is why i am going to give it a little more time cause i sent messages out to something like 20+ people (G/F ect are welcome obviously) so i am thinking it could still turn out well. I have a friend with an Ion i will tell him about it too but he is not a member of this community. so lets give it a few days more if not i will start harrassing the people who have not voted

 

I work for myself, so I can make it happen pretty much any time. Weekends are better, though.

 

Damn look at all the lil Cajun Balts! I'll make sure to message you guys before I go back home to see if we can swing a meet. Don't know when it will be though.

 

wierd... there is 8 different people that has responded to this thread and the most votes we have on one day is 4. question is how many people have actually voted?? i'm not understandin the votes arent adding up to me

Since i cant lock the thread from everyone except LA guys there are people from other places like say canada or detroit out houston who have voted. Also i cant remove votes either so they have to stay at any rate as of today the 18th is winning

 

Maybe people from other areas voted because they are going to be in the New Orleans area that day. Kevin has taken my Cobalt to Houston twice & Atlanta once on business trips, he tried to catch up with those Cobalt owners when he was out there. He always gets bored hanging out at the hotels in the evenings.

 

Hey guys, sorry I missed the meet at the lake front, I didn't think yall had it that early. The 18th sounds good for me.

 

OK guys and gals, yea i know i said i would have decided by the weekend but my PC has decided to die so i am just getting around to this now but the 18th of November has seemed to pull away as the winner. (the last option has 5 but only 2 from LA and none of the voters have gone as far as post when they would want to do it). Not to mention that some of the poeple who voted for the 11th also voted for the 18th.... so the 18th i believe will give us more prep time.

So in this new light where should we have the BBQ. I know I am not one to complain about tdriving somewhere but lets get everyones opinions

 

I might be able to stop in, but it depends on where it is. I just moved to Thibodaux, and I'm starting a new job on Nov. 5th, but I doubt I could talk my wife into letting me drive to N.O. on a Sunday. If any of you Terrebonne/Lafourche peeps want to do an impromptu Friday/Saturday night at Southland Mall, I might be able to swing that.

 

There's a big park by my house where we could bbq. Plenty of parking space, and all the little ricers ride past there

 

i don't care where we go just as long as juan knows how to get there incase i get lost again

 

If you can drive there i proabably can find it.... except from the airport in Miami.... dont ask me how to get anywhere from there...
