Is $1305 high for a SS/SC rear bumper?

I got quoted $1305 by my dealer for parts, labor and paint for a SS/SC rear bumper for my 2.4L. All that it includes is the bumper facia (not the crash absorbing unit), lower lip, paint, and labor.

Is my dealer raping me?

I thought I saw a company in Chicago that sold bumpers painted for under $1000 but you had to pick them up.

Any ideas people? I have some damage to my bumper and I just want to upgrade to get the lip.

install it yourself. will save you a few hundred. i got my bumper painted for 250, and they wanted like 750 originally. once i told them i would take the old bumper off and put the new one on the price dropped 500.

if that is painted and installed, that is not that bad for a dealer.

install is a piece of cake. i never got why people would pay to have things done that are simple. all you need is i think a 8mm wrench and a 10mm wrench and you can do it. there's nothing hard at all. take out all the bolts holding the bumper in, and it comes off. put the new bumper in it's place, and tighten the bolts. first time i ever did it took me about an hour and a half, with beer and cigarette breaks included.

yea it's really not that hard. i just think that if people are on a car enthusiast site, there's no reason why they can't do things like put a bumper on, do a cai or exhaust, etc.

are you serious? Maybe to get one painted and installed, but not if your buying new bumper, lip, and grills.

Dealer prices:
Bumper $373.51
Lip $270.40
Grill (lt) $36.18
Grill (rt) $62.49

Total $742.58 <---- that does not include paint materials, or labor to paint, or install labor

key words being "dealer prices". no offense to anyone, but if someone was to buy this stuff from the dealer they're an idiot.

yeah the $1305 was paint, labor and parts. I agree with you guys. If I do repalce it, I will buy it separatly and take it to a body shop.

Thanks for the advice.
